I have over 12 years experience working as a private tutor from 11+ through to A-Level. I have also prepared students for school entrance exams (Winchester, Harrow, City, Wellington, Highgate etc) and also provided academic support for students at university or on short post-grad courses. My subjects are English (to G.C.S.E), Maths (to 13 plus), Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning, History & History of Art (to A-Level and University) and Geography (to G.C.S.E). I have home schooled students and helped guide them through GCSEs and A-Levels.
I attended Bryanston School followed by Camden Consortium and graduated from the University of York with a 2.1 in History. Since then I have worked in different fields, principally public relations for prominent architects and property developers such as ING and GE Real Estate. I subsequently undertook a Masters in Fine Art from City and Guilds of London Art School gaining a distinction and since then I have worked as a professional tutor and as an artist. I have found the two compliment each other nicely.
I begin by mapping the student's understanding of a subject and ascertaining which areas need to be improved. I work out what style of learning suits the student. I often find the best results are when a student consolidates their learning between lessons, by completing exercises I have devised for them for example. It is really important to be enthusiastic about your subject and impart that enthusiasm to your student.
What I do when I am not tutoring
When I am not tutoring I work as an artist, painting and working on public commissions.

We are also very grateful for your colleagues, Michael and Alex (who swooped in at the 11th hour on the English front), for their support of Logan leading up to his exams. Thank you both.

Alex Fox has been a wonderful tutor to Scarlett. He made an immediate impact and helped Scarlett through her AS History exams, helping her to achieve 100% in one of her papers. We asked Alex to stay on as Scarlett's History and History of Art tutor and take her through her A2 exams. He rose to the challenge and took Scarlett through the year, creating a programme of study and helping her cover her chosen topics comprehensively. Scarlett was very happy with her coursework and delighted to receive an A. Alex has been extremely reliable, flexible and diligent and we are extremely happy to recommend him as a tutor.
