Hello! I’m Emm. I grew up in Buckinghamshire where my dad was an English and History teacher and my mum was the local librarian. A love of education has always been at the centre of my world! I attended the Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School where I attained A* A* A at A Level (English Literature, English Language and Linguistics, and Religious Studies). In 2019, I graduated from Newnham College, Cambridge with a degree in History of Art (2:1). I hold a Publishing MA (Distinction) from the University of the Arts, London. Since then, I have spent my career making educational content for children, from BBC Bitesize videos to Home Learning and 11+ books for Oxford University Press.

I approach tutoring with enthusiasm and humour. Cambridge taught me to grapple with tricky topics through conversation. As such, my style of tutoring is dynamic, discussion-led, and adaptable. An engaging conversation is key to memorable learning as it allows the individual to get to the heart of a topic via their own route and in their own words, making the subjects meaningful to them. I then work with students to transform conversations into relevant tools for revision. My style provides a unique, worthwhile, and enjoyable journey.

I am a freelance children's book editor and I am developing my own creative projects in the comedy and theatre space. I occasionally contribute to writer's rooms and audition for roles in TV and theatre.
