Preparation for Schools
We offer a variety of programmes to students approaching Oxbridge and university entrance, covering application guidance, admissions tests preparation, interview preparation and the development of super-curricular knowledge.

Our Oxbridge & University Entrance Programmes
We offer the following services to support students with their university applications:
- Introductory talk/webinar on UCAS and Oxbridge applications and the admissions process (can be delivered to students or parents).
- One-off or multiple sessions on UCAS applications including course and university choice. These can include taster sessions on specific subjects to help students decide if a subject is the right choice for them.
- Personal statement development: Experienced tutors will help students to understand what a personal statement is, why it is important, how to structure it and what information to include.
We offer courses in the following university admissions tests:
We recommend three mock interviews, conducted by expert tutors who are familiar with the requirements of the interview process for Oxbridge and other courses requiring interviews (such as medicine). These interviews will include detailed feedback and suggestions for further reading and knowledge development.
Our super-curricular courses are specifically aimed at those applicants applying to Oxbridge. We recommend this covers two components:
- Guided Reading Programme: Through following our guided reading programme applicants will read broadly around their chosen subject. Within these sessions, a dedicated subject specialist tutor will discuss the themes and ideas that underpin the applicant’s chosen subject, and advise on suitable books and other materials to explore.
- Specialist Knowledge Programme: Having identified particular areas of interest in the subject the tutor will then move the sessions towards developing more specialist knowledge, where the applicant will then deepen his/her expertise in this area, allowing them to make it a central part of the personal statement as well as the interview process.
We recommend c. 10 x 1.5 hour sessions with a specialist Oxbridge tutor. These can be done 1-to-1 but work particularly well in group settings where ideas can be discussed.

Luckley House School
Keystone has worked with Luckley House School on a number of occasions partnering with them to provide targeted support for their A Level students.
Downe House
One of Keystone’s experienced Law tutors Joe, recently conducted a series of six interactive, online tutorials with a group of Year 12 students from Downe House School in Berkshire.
Astrea Academy Trust
For the last two years, we have been providing weekly A Level extension tuition to their Year 13 students who are aiming for top grades.
City of London Academy Southwark
City of London Academy Southwark contacted Keystone for help in supporting their Year 13 students with admissions test support for students applying to study maths at University.
Repton School
Repton contacted Keystone for help in sourcing a Computer Science tutor to take over their AS Level class. Their current teacher was leaving and they needed a tutor to start at the beginning of the summer term.

Oxbridge & University Entrance Team
Each year, we work with a large number of Oxbridge and other competitive university applicants, offering focused advice and advanced subject-specific tuition. With the guidance of Keystone’s experienced tutors, students are equipped to approach the university application process with confidence and academic rigour.
Here is a sample of the Oxbridge tutors we represent:
Jon is a former Head of Science with over 20 years' teaching experience. With a specialised focus on GCSE and A-level Science and Maths, alongside his expertise in university admissions, Jon brings a wealth of knowledge to each lesson. He joined Keystone in 2012 and has helped 350 Keystone families over this period, teaching more than 12,900 hours.
Tom completed his Economics and Economic History degree at LSE in 2016 and started tutoring alongside his studies. Tom is passionate about improving his student's confidence in their ability in order to help them succeed.
Alexander has a Masters from UCL and is an experienced tutor with a passion for English. He aims to instil a love of learning in all his students and is patient and enthusiastic. Alexander has supported 90 Keystone families since becoming a Keystone tutor.
Alice read English Literature at the University of St Andrews, graduating with First Class Honours, before completing a PGDE at the University of Edinburgh. She has seven years’ experience teaching in Edinburgh independent schools, where she most recently served as Head of English.
Keren is an Oxford University graduate and qualified teacher with a wealth of tutoring experience. She joined Keystone in 2009 and has taught over 4,200 hours. Keren specialises in teaching Classics and English to all ages as well as 11+/13+ English and Maths.
