“Thank you so much for your patience and excellent teaching, she is already feeling better prepared and has a better understanding of the subject after only a couple of sessions.”

I’m a highly experienced and passionate Physics tutor, teacher, and faculty lead with over 20 years of experience in education. I’ve led large and successful Science departments in top UK grammar and independent schools, developed national outreach and CPD programmes, and supported countless GCSE and A-Level students in achieving outstanding results, including entry to Oxbridge.
I began tutoring alongside my day to day teaching role in 2021 and have tutored students both in the UK and Internationally for a range of exam boards and courses for the past 5 years.
I combine deep curriculum expertise, examiner insight, and engaging teaching to deliver personalised, high-impact tuition that builds confidence and long-term success.

I grew up in Worcestershire and completed my secondary education at Alcester Grammar School in Warwickshire where I obtained A-Levels in Physics, Maths and Chemistry. From there I went on to study Physics at Cardiff University.
I completed my PGCE in Secondary Science, specialising in Physics and began teaching in 2005.
I was promoted to my first role as Head of Physics in 2006. In 2012 I returned to Alcester Grammar School, having enjoyed many happy years there as a student, where I was Head of Physics and Head of Science.
In 2023 following a family relocation I was appointed as Faculty Lead Science and Head of Physics at Roedean School in Brighton.

“He was blown away by the session you had. He said you made something he had previously found daunting, clear and simple. Thank you so much for what you do, we're so glad we found you. You have given him his confidence back.”

“Lauren really helped my son with his Physics A level. She was friendly and exceptionally knowledgeable, explaining tricky concepts in an accessible way. She was able to build his confidence in the subject such that he achieved a grade 2 levels higher than he was predicted.”
Parent
“Thank you so much for all your help with her Physics this year and last - from a 5 to a 9 in just over a year is not bad going!! You have really helped her in an unfathomable way in terms of her self belief and approach to these exams and I can’t thank you enough.”

I specialise in delivering interactive, engaging sessions, designed to build confidence and long-term understanding, inspiring students to achieve their very best through meeting their individual needs within a trusting, supportive and nurturing environment. My ability to break complex ideas down into concise and accessible chunks and explain them to students in an engaging and relevant way means that my students are able to understand these key concepts quickly, which allows more time to practice their application and develop their understanding further.
As an examiner for GCSE and IGCSE Physics, I provide unique insight into exam technique and expectations, helping students perform at their very best.
With a reputation for my ability to engage and inspire whilst providing students with a dynamic environment where they feel understood, gain confidence, and experience genuine success, I combine curriculum mastery with proven exam strategies to deliver impactful tuition that drives long-term success. I am committed to delivering personalised support with a results-driven approach to help students succeed in both exams and their wider academic journey.

I have just left my role at Roedean School to allow me to be more present for my family.
With 20 years experience doing something I truly love, I have decided to leave the classroom to allow me to focus on my tutoring full time whilst having the luxury of being able to now schedule my work around my young daughter and devote more time to my family and enjoying the beautiful South Downs where we live.
In addition to my tutoring, I also work as an Educational Consultant for the Ogden Trust, supporting and delivering CPD to non specialists to develop their physics subject knowledge and confidence in delivering physics in the classroom, and mentoring early career physics teachers.
When I'm not tutoring you will most likely find me in the water, sea swimming or paddle boarding as often as possible.
