I have nine years' teaching experience across a range of settings and subjects. I began teaching in 2017, when I taught classroom Drama to Year 9 at St Paul's School for Boys, where I was working as a Drama Graduate from January to August.

That same year, I began tutoring one-on-one. I took on several private students in English and Maths, most of them preparing for 11+ entry to Dulwich College. All passed and went on to their school of choice.

In 2018, I started tutoring for an agency, teaching one-on-one and with groups online. I focused on English, Maths, and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning at 11+ and 13+, working with students as young as 7. I also taught GCSE English Literature, English Language and Music, as well as History and Geography at 13+. Alongside exam preparation, I specialised in preparing students for school interviews.

In 2022, I gained my CELTA (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) at Stafford House, London, and shortly afterwards moved to Japan. There I taught English as an Additional Language for the British Council, mostly in junior high schools with classes of 38, as well as in-house on their summer intensive courses in 2023. Alongside this, I taught singing and songwriting to pupils from Year 1 to Year 13 at The British School in Tokyo, an international school.

In 2024, I returned to the UK and resumed tutoring for several of the agencies I had worked with prior to my move. My focus is 11+ and 13+, including specialist exams such as the ISEB, UKiset, SET and GL tests, and I teach all four subjects confidently: English, Maths, VR and NVR.

This summer (2026) I spent six weeks in Shanghai teaching intensive 11+ ISEB classes in all four subjects, and led enrichment lessons in History, Creative and Persuasive Writing, and Drama. Having delivered the same course the previous summer, it was my second working trip to the city.

Born in New York City to an American mum and a British dad, my family moved to West London soon after my twin brother's and my first birthday. I attended a local state primary school before being offered a place at Colet Court, now St Paul's Juniors, in Year 6. I went on to graduate from St Paul's School as a John Colet Senior Scholar with A-levels in English Literature (A), Music (A) and Theatre Studies (A), as well as an AS-level in Latin (A).

After school, I studied Music (BMus) at the University of Manchester, graduating with a 2:1 in 2016. In 2017, I spent six months working at St Paul's School as a 'Drama Graduate'. As part of my role, I taught classroom Drama to Year 9 classes - my first taste of teaching - which I found immensely rewarding.

I went into tutoring in 2017 and taught for various agencies over five years. In April 2022, I completed a CELTA course (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and moved to Tokyo, Japan, where I taught English as an Additional Language for the British Council.

In August 2024, after a wonderful time in Japan, I returned happily to London and tutoring. I came to Keystone in 2025.

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, empathy, and high expectations. I make a deliberate effort to understand where each student is academically and emotionally, without projecting assumptions or biases onto them. By creating an environment in which students feel genuinely seen and heard, I am able to support their confidence while also challenging them to reach their full potential.

I adapt my style closely to each learner’s personality. Some students thrive with an energetic, enthusiastic approach, while others make their best progress through a gentler, calmer tone. I am highly sensitive to these differences and very responsive to what brings the best out of each individual. At a baseline, I am energised, positive and an excellent communicator. I make sure to listen carefully to students' own feedback on their own improvement areas and what they need from me.

I set targeted homework on identified weak areas and track these topics systematically over time. I expect strong behaviour and a committed work ethic, and I am rigorous when a student is capable of more. At the same time, I offer steady encouragement when students are struggling, ensuring they feel supported, motivated, and empowered. Some students may not have received much praise at school; perhaps there are sixty students in their class, or they struggle to put their hand up and contribute. It is vital that students are encouraged in ways which are genuine, thoughtful and grounded in a fair response to impressive effort.

Tutoring is my profession. Although I have taught in classrooms in the past, I most appreciate the impact I can make one-on-one.

In my spare time, I enjoy catching up with friends, cycling, hiking and playing the guitar.
