Born in New York City to an American mum and a British dad, my family moved to West London soon after my twin brother's and my first birthday. I attended a local state primary school before being offered a place at Colet Court, now St Paul's Juniors, in Year 6. I went on to graduate from St Paul's School as a John Colet Senior Scholar with A-levels in English Literature (A), Music (A) and Theatre Studies (A), as well as an AS-level in Latin (A).

After school, I studied Music (BMus) at the University of Manchester, graduating with a 2:1 in 2016. In 2017, I spent six months working at St Paul's School as a 'Drama Graduate'. As part of my role, I taught classroom Drama to Year 9 classes - my first taste of teaching - which I found immensely rewarding.

I went into tutoring in 2017 and taught for various agencies over five years. In April 2022, I completed a CELTA course (Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) and moved to Tokyo, Japan, where I taught English as an Additional Language for the British Council.

In August 2024, after a wonderful time in Japan, I returned happily to London and tutoring. I came to Keystone in 2025.

My teaching style is rooted in clarity, empathy, and high expectations. I make a deliberate effort to understand where each student is academically and emotionally, without projecting assumptions or biases onto them. By creating an environment in which students feel genuinely seen and heard, I am able to support their confidence while also challenging them to reach their full potential.

I adapt my style closely to each learner’s personality. Some students thrive with an energetic, enthusiastic approach, while others make their best progress through a gentler, calmer tone. I am highly sensitive to these differences and very responsive to what brings the best out of each individual. At a baseline, I am energised, positive and an excellent communicator. I make sure to listen carefully to students' own feedback on their own improvement areas and what they need from me.

I set targeted homework on identified weak areas and track these topics systematically over time. I expect strong behaviour and a committed work ethic, and I am rigorous when a student is capable of more. At the same time, I offer steady encouragement when students are struggling, ensuring they feel supported, motivated, and empowered. Some students may not have received much praise at school; perhaps there are sixty students in their class, or they struggle to put their hand up and contribute. It is vital that students are encouraged in ways which are genuine, thoughtful and grounded in a fair response to impressive effort.

Tutoring is my profession. Although I have taught in classrooms in the past, I most appreciate the impact I can make one-on-one.

In my spare time, I enjoy catching up with friends, cycling, hiking and playing the guitar.
