I have taught languages since 2016 in schools in London and Paris, and through private tutoring. Over this time, I have supported a wide range of students with excellent outcomes:

-Many of my GCSE tutees have improved by two or more grades, with many securing Grade 9s.

-Last academic year, all of my tutees achieved Grades 9-6, five of whom secured a Grade 9.

-My A Level students have consistently achieved top results, with a number gaining A/A* grades and continuing their language studies at university.

-I have successfully prepared students for 11+ and 13+ entrance exams, helping them secure places at selective day and boarding schools in London and beyond.

I have worked as a French and Spanish teacher in various London schools since 2016. From 2016 to 2018, I taught at Ark Elvin Academy. From 2018 to 2021, I taught at Central Foundation Boys’ School, where I was also Lead Mentor for trainee teachers and Lead Coach, supporting colleagues across the school. From 2022 to 2024, I taught at Notting Hill Preparatory School, an accredited Advanced Thinking School, where I was also a member of the Thinking School Drive team and contributed to staff CPD. Since January 2025, I have been living and working in Paris, both as an English teacher in a private bilingual school and as an online languages tutor.

Biography

I have always been an unabashed language enthusiast. At school I studied French, Spanish and Latin, and began Italian ab initio at university. In 2021, I spent 3 months living and working in Porto, where I began learning European Portuguese. These experiences have given me first-hand insight into the challenges and rewards of language learning, which I bring to my students.

I first studied at Nottingham High School for Girls where I took English Literature, Religious Education, French and Spanish at AS Level and continued with the latter three at A Level. I then went on to study Modern Foreign Languages (French, Spanish, Italian) at Durham University and graduated in 2013 with a 2.1 and Distinction in Spoken Italian.

I joined the Teach First programme in 2016 and gained my PGCE at UCL Institute of Education in 2017. Since then, I have taught across all Key Stages (KS1–5), working with students of a wide range of levels, abilities and backgrounds.

Approach to Tutoring

My aim is to make language learning accessible, memorable and enjoyable. I create a safe space where mistakes are seen as essential to growth and confidence is built lesson by lesson. I use my empathy and rapport to make students feel comfortable and motivated, while ensuring they are challenged to reach their potential.

I draw on a wide range of resources including past papers, audiovisual materials, interactive activities and my own bank of differentiated resources. I adapt lessons to each tutee’s needs, whether that means boosting exam technique, consolidating grammar, or developing fluency and spontaneity.

I am highly experienced in delivering engaging online lessons on platforms such as Google Meets, having done so since the pandemic. I use screen sharing, interactive whiteboards and digital tools to replicate the in-person experience. I integrate recall quizzes, speaking activities, and audiovisual input to keep sessions interactive and ensure progress. Parents have consistently commented that their children remain focused and make excellent progress with me online.

When not tutoring

Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading, writing, yoga, travelling and exploring the beautiful city of Paris. I am part of an all-female book club and writing group, and I love writing poetry and short stories. At home, you'll often find me relaxing with my cat, experimenting with new recipes and listening to my favourite podcasts.
