With over 25 years’ experience in the independent sector, I specialise in preparing pupils for competitive entrance to leading UK schools at 11+ and 13+. I have successfully guided students through the ISEB pre-tests, Common Entrance, and school-specific entrance exams, as well as providing expert coaching for interviews. As a fully qualified English Speaking Board (ESB) examiner, I am uniquely placed to support pupils in developing the confidence, clarity, and communication skills needed to shine in spoken assessments.
Many of my pupils have gone on to secure places at some of the UK’s most prestigious schools, including Eton, Harrow, Winchester, Westminster, Charterhouse, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, and City of London.
I also tutor GCSE English and Spanish, combining subject expertise with a clear focus on exam technique and confidence-building. Having been Head of Humanities in a prep school that prepared pupils for 13+ Common Entrance and scholarships, I particularly enjoy teaching History, Geography, and related subjects, alongside my work as Head of Modern Foreign Languages.
Beyond the UK, I have extensive experience as an international tutor, working successfully online with students in Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. This global perspective has enabled me to understand and respond to the needs of pupils from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds, equipping them with the skills and confidence to thrive in competitive academic environments.
Over my career, I have also held senior pastoral and academic leadership roles, which have given me a deep understanding of how to support students holistically—academically, personally, and socially. This breadth of experience ensures that I am able to design programmes that are rigorous, tailored, and supportive, helping pupils to thrive in every aspect of their education.
