I am an experienced and highly qualified teacher of English, Psychology, Economics, Philosophy and History of Art, as well as an academic leader and education consultant, with over 30 years of service across educational settings in the UK, Europe, the USA and the Middle East including leading independent schools in the UK and sixteen years as a private family tutor for the Saudi Royal Family. I have extensive experience in classroom teaching for students aged 11–18, curriculum leadership, examinations administration, Oxbridge entrance preparation and international curricula including UK, US and IB programmes. I am skilled in educational strategy, staff development and supporting personalised student achievement. Most recently, I have been serving as Head of Academics and Examinations Officer at Kairos School in Portugal.

My tutoring is structured, analytical and highly personalised. I begin by identifying each student’s academic strengths and areas for development before designing a tailored programme that aligns closely with the student’s examination syllabus and long-term goals.

A central focus of my teaching is the development of clarity of thought and effective written expression. Through close reading, structured discussion and targeted practice, I help students refine their essay technique and develop a clear understanding of what examiners are looking for.

While improving examination performance is important, my broader aim is to build confidence and intellectual independence. I want students to develop the skills and assurance needed to approach complex academic challenges with clarity, discipline and confidence.

Alongside my work as a teacher and tutor, I am also an active writer and educational consultant. Since 2019, I have worked as an English consultant to the CEO of the King Khalid Foundation in Riyadh, contributing research, policy writing and speech preparation. My work with the Foundation has included research reports and publications relating to sustainability, philanthropy and civil society in Saudi Arabia, including work connected to the country’s Vision 2030 agenda. During Saudi Arabia’s hosting of the G20 Summit in Riyadh in 2020, I contributed research and written materials for institutional publications and communications, and I have continued to support the Foundation’s work in the years following COP26.

My research contributions include work on philanthropic strategy and civil-sector development in Saudi Arabia and the wider Middle East, including contributions to research published in collaboration with the Judge Business School at the University of Cambridge examining philanthropy and innovative financing in the region.

In addition to my consultancy work, I am also a published novelist. I have written several novels including 'Glengoth', 'Portrait of a Landscape', and 'Where Are the Songs of Spring?'. My work has received finalist medals in international independent book awards, including recognition in the Next Generation Indie Book Awards.

I continue to write fiction and essays alongside my educational work and occasionally undertake speechwriting and research projects relating to education, culture and philanthropy.
