I was born and raised in London and attended Thomas's Kensington before moving to Thomas's Battersea to complete my Common Entrance. I then moved to Benenden School for my GCSEs and A levels in English Literature, History and Biology. I went on to study History at Newcastle University, where I gained a 2:1. Shortly after graduating, I became a Teaching Assistant at an Outstanding academy in Westminster, where I later trained as a Primary Teacher, gaining my PGCE and QTS through the Ark Teacher Training Programme. I have since spent two years teaching Year 2, and this September I will be joining Emerson House as a Specialist Teacher, whilst working towards my qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties.

Having spent much of my career working within Key Stage One, I have a strong understanding of how to make teaching both fun and engaging, whilst also being an expert at keeping children on task. I believe the best learning environment is one where children feel safe to make mistakes, ask questions and nurture their curiosity. I am sociable, chatty and friendly, and with teaching having been my full-time job for the last four years, I have gained lots of experience with different types of learners. I am also currently training to become a Specialist Teacher, and so understand the importance of adaptive teaching, using strategies such as manipulatives to support each child's individual needs.

I am about to start an exciting new chapter in my teaching career at Emerson House, where I will also be studying towards my Level 5 qualification in Specific Learning Difficulties (e.g. dyslexia & dyscalculia). Supporting children with SEND is the area of education I am most passionate about, and I am looking forward to developing my knowledge and expertise in a role that truly aligns with my interests and strengths. Outside of work, you'll usually find me keeping active, whether that's at the gym, out for a run or on a padel court. I'm a sociable person and love spending time with friends and family.
