I grew up in Birmingham and attended Solihull Sixth Form College, where I achieved A-levels in Biology, Chemistry, and French, and an AS-level in Maths. I went on to read Biochemistry at The University of Edinburgh, where I gained a 2:1 Honours degree and completed a summer research internship in a university lab. I then studied a Master’s by Research in Biochemistry at The University of Bristol. Throughout my university studies, I have tutored part-time both remotely and in-person, a rewarding experience that led me to pursue tutoring as a full-time career!

I am a friendly, caring, and engaging tutor who seeks to equip students with the study skills needed to succeed independently. My top priority as a tutor is creating an open environment in which my students feel comfortable asking me any questions, no matter how big or small! My favourite aspect of tutoring is watching a student's confidence develop throughout the time we spend together.

I will always make sure to understand a student's personal goals, and I encourage students to actively participate in our sessions, using lots of practice questions and revision tasks. I take a creative approach to tutoring, ensuring that my teaching methods are tailored to the individual needs of the student: for example, using lots of diagrams for students who prefer visual learning, or inventing mnemonic devices for students struggling to remember key concepts.

When teaching online, I use an interactive approach through tools such as Concept Board and Pencil Spaces, engaging my students through short tasks followed by review exercises. My in-person tutoring sessions include personalised worksheets and use of interesting revision techniques.

When I’m not tutoring, my favourite hobby is being active and spending time outdoors in nature! I really enjoy hiking, wild swimming (or normal swimming when it's too cold outside!), and exploring new scenery. I also love doing yoga, spending time with my friends, drinking far too many cups of tea, and reading.
