I am a professional educator with American teacher training, previous IB Examiner, and have over 15 years of experience and 7,000+ tutoring hours across a wide range of subjects and academic levels. In addition to teaching at local colleges and universities, I have written curriculum and designed educational programs in both Europe and America. I specialise in discreet, bespoke online, residential, and in-person tutoring and home-school support for students require extra support, mainstream SEN students, international students, and those pursuing admission to competitive UK and US schools and universities.

I regularly assist students with homework, test preparation, and academic support across a range of subjects and offer comprehensive guidance for secondary school admissions, American university applications, IBDP guidance, and throughout university studies.

My professional background includes managing education programs at Memorial Academy, the New York Historical Society, the San Diego EcoCenter Science Museum, and the San Diego Maritime Museum. I participated in the teacher training program at High Tech High School in San Diego and designed an SAT preparation program for Macmillan Publishing.

My previous students have gone on to attend many of the world's top boarding schools including St Paul’s, Eton, Wycombe Abbey, Cheltenham Ladies’ College, St Edward’s (Teddies), Oundle, Fettes College, Oakham, Bromsgrove, and Wellington College. I have also supported students attending leading day schools such as Westminster, King’s College School, Southbank International School, and Francis Holland (both campuses). Internationally, I have worked with students from Institut Le Rosey, Beau Soleil, Aiglon College, TASIS, St George’s, JFK, Léman in Switzerland, UWC South East Asia (UWCSEA), International School of Geneva (ISG, Saudi Arabia), British International School of Jeddah, and North London Collegiate School (Middle East campuses).

With thousands of hours of one-to-one tutoring experience, I am committed to helping every student achieve their personal best through a thoughtful, holistic, and tailored educational approach.

My academic background spans the humanities and sciences, with a BA and MA in History, an MRes in BioArchaeology and a PhD in Anthropology, alongside a Cambridge Certificate in Coaching. My studies have included Classical History, Geography, Environmental Science, English and Politics, and this interdisciplinary background continues to shape the way I work with students.

Originally from Southern California, I have lived and worked in the UK for many years and have spent much of my career working with international and globally mobile families in the UK, across Europe and throughout the Middle East. My students have attended leading day, boarding and international schools around the world and I particularly enjoy helping young people navigate different educational systems, academic transitions and the increasing expectations they encounter as they progress through school and towards university.

Having been diagnosed with ADHD and dyslexia as a child has also strongly influenced my work as an educator and mentor. I understand personally that academic ability does not always translate straightforwardly into academic performance, and I am particularly interested in helping students develop confidence, independence and a better understanding of how they learn. Many of my tutoring relationships consequently develop into long-term academic mentoring relationships that continue across several years and different stages of a student’s education.

With a broad range of teaching experience across lectures, one-to-one tuition, and small group settings, I bring a flexible and responsive approach to each learner. My practice is rooted in differentiated instruction and learner-centred pedagogy, allowing me to adapt content, pace, and strategies to suit the individual needs, abilities, and goals of each student.

I typically adopt a student-led approach, drawing on constructivist principles that encourage learners to take ownership of their learning through active participation, dialogue, and reflection. Lessons are highly interactive and built around Socratic questioning, collaborative problem-solving, and the development of higher-order thinking skills such as analysis, evaluation, and synthesis, in line with Bloom’s Taxonomy.

In one-to-one settings, I integrate elements of formative assessment, using continuous feedback to identify gaps in understanding and to scaffold progress. I am also attentive to each student’s learning style, incorporating multimodal resources (visual, auditory, and kinaesthetic where applicable) to support accessibility and engagement.

My goal is to foster independent, self-regulated learners who feel confident navigating complexity and are equipped with the critical thinking tools to approach challenges creatively and reflectively.

When I am not tutoring, I work full time as an Education Consultant, supporting families and students across the UK, Europe, and internationally. Coming from an entrepreneurial family, I also help run a handful of businesses in the independent film and media space which has always provided opportunities to learn many different skillsets.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, whether it is snorkelling in the Mediterranean, skiing in Gstaad during the school holidays, or exploring new cities around the world. I regularly visit family in the United States and make the most of being based in London, with its vibrant restaurant scene, cultural events, and access to a variety of professional clubs and societies.

I am passionate about encouraging girls to pursue STEM fields and leadership roles, and I am actively involved in charitable initiatives that support education and empowerment. In addition, I have a growing personal and professional interest in the use of AI in education, business development, and entrepreneurship, and enjoy exploring how emerging technologies can enhance learning and innovation.
