I have developed teaching and mentoring experience through my role in the University of Buckingham Med Mentor Programme, where I supported junior medical students with coursework and exam preparation. This involved explaining complex scientific concepts clearly and adapting my approach to suit different learning styles.

I have also delivered revision sessions, helping students prepare for exams by simplifying material and focusing on key concepts. These experiences have strengthened my ability to communicate challenging ideas effectively and build student confidence.

While my experience has primarily been with older students, my strong academic background in mathematics and science allows me to confidently tutor school students. I focus on developing understanding, problem-solving skills, and exam technique, rather than rote memorisation.

Biography

I am a third-year medical student at the University of Buckingham, with a strong academic background in mathematics and science. I completed my secondary education at Penrhos College in Western Australia, achieving an ATAR of 98.60, before undertaking a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at the University of Western Australia. I am now training as a doctor in the UK, with a focus on problem-solving, critical thinking, and clear communication.

Alongside my studies, I developed a passion for teaching through the University of Buckingham Med Mentor Programme, where I supported junior students with exam preparation and simplified complex topics. This experience strengthened my ability to adapt explanations to different learning styles and build student confidence.

With my background in medicine and biomedical science, I bring strong subject knowledge and real-world context to tutoring in biology, chemistry, and mathematics. I aim to deliver structured, engaging sessions that not only improve grades but also develop long-term understanding and effective study techniques.

Approach to Tutoring

I believe that effective tutoring is highly individual, and I adapt my teaching style to suit each student’s way of thinking and learning. Through mentoring medical students, I have developed the ability to break down complex concepts into clear, manageable steps and explain ideas in multiple ways.

I aim to create a supportive and structured environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and building confidence. My approach focuses not only on mastering content, but also on developing strong exam technique and effective study strategies.

With my background in medicine and science, I emphasise understanding over memorisation, helping students apply their knowledge to unfamiliar problems.

When not tutoring

I am currently studying Medicine full-time at the University of Buckingham. Alongside my degree, I balance tutoring with academic commitments and maintain a structured schedule, allowing me to offer consistent and reliable availability during term time.

Outside of my studies, I enjoy staying active through hiking and travel, and I have a strong interest in medical research and emerging healthcare technologies.
