I have aided thorough preparation for entrance examinations, interviews and subject revision for numerous students targeting, or already within, many top independent day and boarding schools including, Westminster, Latymer Upper, UCS, Channing, Northbridge House, City of London, Uppingham, St Pauls, Harrow, Eton, Charterhouse, Oundle and Stowe, along with highly competitive Grammar Schools, such as Queen Elizabeth Barnet, around the London catchment area.
I have facilitated numerous students towards A* grades in GCSE Maths and English, along with other high targets specific to each individual student.

Residential Private Tutor, Mediterranean
- Governor role aiding a VIP Client’s son with gradual building of his confidence and enjoyment in core subjects and hobbies, which he recently found to be quite challenging due to a change of school and disagreement with their teaching methods.

- Aiding a high achieving boy towards his Latymer School entrance exam.
- Developing his English ability, dedicating time on strengthening his grammar, vocabulary, sentence & clause structure and punctuation. I helped improve his comprehension of a variety of texts, carefully answering questions accurately and articulately.
11+ CE & 13+ Pre-Test (English, Maths, Verbal & Non Verbal Reasoning)
Goal: Eton, Harrow, Westminster, City of London
- Facilitating a year 5, now year 6, student’s all round English, Maths & Reasoning ability.
- Concentrated on improving his handwriting and spelling, carefully working through exercises to improve these vital aspects of communication. Attention also given to his creative writing and comprehension of set texts, helping him better articulate his ideas and responses to questions, making sure to be specific and concise.
I completed an undergraduate degree in Architecture at the University of Bath, attaining a high first class honours & winning the course award for Thesis Excellence, along with receiving the second highest score ever to be awarded of 82. During my degree, I completed an Erasmus Diploma at the Technical University of Munich and a Leonardo da Vinci Diploma in Berlin. At the same time as my Bachelor, I learned German to a professional proficiency. I have experience working in a variety of vocations in countries including Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Turkey and the UK. I have most recently completed an MA in Fine Art with a focus on pedagogy. Prior to my academic and professional career, I received a distinction in Foundation Fine Art, along with As and A*s throughout A-Level and GCSE.
After completing my degree, I gained vocational experience collaborating with the globally renowned architects, Herzog & de Meuron in Basel, Switzerland, after being offered the position prior to completing my degree. I predominantly worked on the Stirling Prize nominated Blavatnik School of Government for the University of Oxford. At this extremely thorough Architecture Practise, Maths & English, for logic-based resolution of technical issues & clarity of communication, were always a necessity.
I believe one-to-one tutoring to be an integral aspect of one’s education. Tutoring offers a wonderfully supportive environment in which each student can learn & build their confidence, enabling them to gain a strong knowledge base and foundation in the specific subject area.
For each student, I design the tutorials to best develop their specific learning ability and how they approach the subject, with a view towards building learned context in the subject as preparation for holistic syllabus understanding and improved examination scores.
I consider myself to be an understanding, empathetic and fun tutor who is patient and able to vary the ways in which to learn, from quick memory games to thoroughly breaking down certain subjects into their component parts.
What I do when I am not tutoring
Tutoring is given full priority over my other activities. Though, when not at work, I like to go swimming and am currently preparing my garden for the summer season.

''Thomas helped us tremendously in teaching study habits to our son, revising to prepare our son for the range of maths and English questions required of 11 plus exams, and helping him find his strengths. Each week Thomas was encouraging, patient, and sophisticated in his approach and told us about a lot of study tools that we did not know about. After seeing Thomas for 1.5-2 hours each week for almost a year, our son was admitted to his two top choices of schools, one of which has also offered him an arts scholarship and he has since been selected for a top group of kids preparing for maths SATS.
