I have 3 and a half years of experience as a Maths and physics tutor. I love passing my knowledge on to the kids, they really seem to enjoy my approach. My teaching experience in the last few years has developed my talents a lot and I have found that it’s really something I enjoy and I am good at. I offer Maths and Physics tuition at GCSE and A-Level, traveling across London to deliver tailored Maths and Physics tuition, mostly one to one, sometimes to two or more students. I took 12 students through GCSE and A Level exams in 2018 with parents reporting back very strong results.
I am a Scottish, 33 year old, Theoretical Physics MSc graduate from Imperial College London. I have a law degree too - I worked as a lawyer for 5 years but it was never my passion so I went back to spend time with the subjects I love. I have gained 4 and a half years experience as a Maths and physics tutor. Being naturally good at Maths is a great gift and I love passing this passion onto the children.
Each student is different and there is always a way to engage them in these great subjects. I assess how the kids learn best in the first few sessions so I can tailor my style to ensure maximum progress for them. I am confident when communicating with others, I am lively when presenting to a group or teaching a class, and I am attentive and influential when working with my students. My personality and diverse skill set make me an exceptional tutor.
What I do when I am not tutoring
I play in the local tennis leagues and although it's mostly for fun I obviously like to be extremely competitive! I'm finished my MSc last October, I will stay in London for at least another year then I will look around to find the best PhD for me. I always knew when I came back to study I would be continuing to research them for the rest of my life and going into academia.
My daughter has loved working with Paul and he has been able to excite and motivate her about the topics at hand.
"Paul is an extremely personable man, friendly, spot on time, ready to crack on. His enthusiasm for maths is contagious — my son has been excited and talkative after each one of his sessions, something I’ve never seen before. We are both so pleased with how things are going." Mother of A Level Maths student
I would like to praise Paul's work, its been outstanding and Iris is very please with him. - Father of IGCSE Student
''I'm delighted to say Cleo got 8 for Maths; please will you pass on our sincere thanks to Paul as she will be able to follow her dream and do Maths A level now.'' Tori (Cleo’s mum)
“Phew! Aidan got into St Benedict’s 6th form Mix of A’s, B’s and a C. We are all so happy (and relieved!!). Thanks again for getting him through the Maths.” Karen (Aiden’s mum)
