Before joining Keystone in 2019 Claudia taught Science at Westminster Cathedral Choir School for four years. She has tutored over 1,000 hours and assisted 60 Keystone clients. She urges her students to look at Science beyond the syllabus as it makes it easier for students to understand concepts and improve their skills.

I have extensive experience teaching students from Year 5 to Year 8 having been a Science Teacher at Westminster Cathedral Choir School for nearly 4 years. I have prepared students for ISEB exams as well as public school entry exams such as Winchester and Dulwich. I have also helped write questions for interview preparation. I taught at the Eton College Universities Summer School for two years, helping A-level Biology students applying to Oxbridge.
I completed my studies in Siena, my Italian hometown, where I attended the Liceo Classico, and got a final grade of 98/100. I have then gained the equivalent of a BSc in Biology and the equivalent of an MSc in Molecular and Cell Biology from the University of Siena, both with a final grade of 110/110 cum laude. During this time I cultivated my passion for music and achieved a diploma in classical guitar.
After moving to England in 2011 I worked as a researcher and tutor before starting as a Science Teacher at Westminster Cathedral Choir School.
I believe the best teaching takes place when there is a balance between discussion and tailored activities. They should be designed in a way that allows students to demonstrate their full potential.
I always try to enthuse the students I teach about Science; I believe it is very important to encourage them not to see just a list of topics on the syllabus but to go beyond it and put them in context. This means that they can appreciate the wider nature of scientific study. In my view this not only helps to see the subject from a different perspective and therefore to increase one’s interest; it also makes it easier for students to understand concepts and improve their skills.
When I am not tutoring I like to spend time with my husband and young children. We like to walk around London and go to concerts and exhibitions. I love animals and have enjoyed horse riding since I was a child. I am a karate brown belt and like running. When I am not out and about I think there is nothing like sitting down with a good book.
Thank you so much for all your patience, all the notes that you have sent through and all the extra time you’ve taken with exam papers, with correcting and suggesting extra matters. It has honestly been a great success and my son has gone to each class enthusiastic and happy. He really has enjoyed your lessons. (Mother of 13+ student)
