I have extensive relevant experience preparing pupils for high-stakes assessments and working within exam-focused year groups. Throughout my teaching career, I have taught Year 2 SATs cohorts for four consecutive years and have experience in assessment, moderation, data analysis and targeted intervention to support pupils in achieving strong outcomes.
In addition, during my teacher training I completed a placement at Garden House School, where I worked with pupils preparing for both 7+ and 11+ entrance examinations. Although I was not the sole class teacher responsible for these cohorts, I was involved in teaching and supporting pupils throughout the preparation process and gained a good understanding of the expectations, standards and academic skills required for successful entrance exam performance.
My background in primary education, literacy, phonics and exam preparation means I would be confident in supporting pupils working towards 7+, 8+ and similar entrance assessments.
I am an experienced primary school teacher with seven years of classroom experience across four schools, including both independent and state settings.
Throughout my teaching career, I have held a number of curriculum leadership responsibilities, including leading English Writing, Phonics, Science and Key Stage 1. I have extensive experience teaching Key Stage 1 and have taught Year 2 SATs cohorts for four consecutive years. This has involved preparing pupils for statutory assessments, analysing attainment data, implementing targeted interventions and contributing to moderation processes.
My experience spans the full primary curriculum, with particular expertise in literacy, phonics and supporting pupils to make strong academic progress. I am confident in assessing individual learning needs and tailoring teaching to help pupils achieve their potential.
I took a career break from teaching following the birth of my son but since April 2026, I have been working in a different professional sector, developing additional skills in project management, strategy and consultancy. While I have enjoyed broadening my professional experience, I am keen to continue working with pupils through tutoring, drawing on my extensive teaching background and passion for education.

Having taught for many years in a classroom setting, I have developed a teaching style in order to ensure that all pupils are engaged and able to access the learning. I consider myself to be a fun teacher who uses humour & learning through games and practical exercises as tools. No two lessons should be the same and children should be excited about the learning. I am also patient and understanding and am able to adapt my teaching quickly in many diverse ways in order to ensure that the child is able to access the learning and make progress whilst also feeling comfortable and at ease.
When I am not tutoring, the remainder of my week is spent caring for my 18-month-old son. Alongside this, I am training to become a parenting coach and sleep consultant, so I can use my expertise in child behaviour, and my extensive teaching experience to help to guide others. I love to paint in my free time and create all of my own designs of hand painted watercolour greeting cards, which I sell, whilst also doing personal commissions for friends and family.
Other hobbies include reading, cooking and pilates.
