I began my career as a Chemistry teacher at Eastbourne College, where I taught GCSE and A-level AQA Chemistry. Later, I relocated to Cambridge to undergo formal teaching training. There, I obtained a PGCE Secondary Chemistry with QTS, which allowed me to further develop my teaching skills.

My next teaching position was at St Mary's School Ascot, where I continued to teach Chemistry at both IGCSE (Edexcel) and A-level (OCR-A and B). This experience provided me with the opportunity to instruct students with a wide range of abilities. I learned to adapt my teaching style according to their individual needs. At St Mary's, I also organised and supervised the Bronze and Silver Crest Award programs. These initiatives empowered students to choose their own subjects and methodologies when conducting hands-on investigations.

In addition to teaching, I worked as a part-time tutor for over ten years, providing online and face-to-face assistance to A-level, IB, IGCSE, and GCSE students. I have consistently received high satisfaction ratings from both students and parents. I am well-versed in the content of the most common specifications and thoroughly enjoy supporting high-achieving students aiming for top universities, as well as those who struggle with foundational chemical concepts and need assistance in grasping them effectively.

Biography

I grew up in Italy and completed my primary and secondary education there. Afterward, I obtained a Master's degree in Chemistry. I then decided to move to the UK to pursue a PhD in Chemistry at the University of Nottingham. During my time as a PhD student, I had the opportunity to teach undergraduate students on occasion, which sparked my passion for teaching.

Following the completion of my PhD, I gained experience as a Chemistry teacher at Eastbourne College. Recognising the importance of formal training, I subsequently enrolled in a Secondary PGCE course in Chemistry at Cambridge University, Homerton College.

Upon finishing my studies, I was appointed as a full-time Chemistry teacher at St Mary's School Ascot, where I dedicated thirteen years of my career. Currently, I work as a full-time online tutor, specialising in Chemistry at GCSE, IGCSE, IB, and A-level.

Personal Approach

I emphasise a systematic and bespoke method tailored to each student's needs. I focus on developing strong exam technique, ensuring students are well-prepared for assessments and exams. For those struggling with difficult chemical concepts, I provide patient and calm support, helping them gain a solid understanding. By breaking down complex ideas into manageable steps, using practical examples and analogies, I aim to make the subject more accessible and engaging. My goal is to foster confidence, build a strong foundation, and empower students to excel in Chemistry.

What I do when I am not tutoring

I enjoy staying active through playing tennis and cycling. Since cooking is essentially a fun chemical experiment, I am a food enthusiast who loves creating delicious dishes. The intricate chemistry behind wine making also fascinates me and my goal is to produce my own wine soon.

Thankfully, my schedule is highly flexible, allowing me to accommodate students at various times and frequencies.
