Oxford University Biomedical Sciences Student (2022):
Dr Nurmohamed has been a great help to me throughout the university application process, and this support has led me to gain a place at Oxford this year. She is extremely knowledgeable in all aspects of the application process and supported me in a range of areas, giving advice on course/college choices, guiding me through practice BMAT and interview questions, patiently reviewing many drafts of my personal statement, and directing me to useful resources all throughout. She was always very understanding and encouraging, and I would leave our sessions feeling more confident in approaching the next step of my application journey. I am very grateful for all her help.
University Student (2022):
Our kind and learned tutor Sarah Nurmohamed of University of Oxford, who not only brought me knowledge of cancer biology and biochemistry, but also significantly changes my way of thinking, which definitely would have profound influence on my academic career.
Parent of student who successfully secured a place in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge (2022):
My son had his first session with Sarah today. It was amazing - she is incredible and really knows exactly what he needs to do. He is also very happy and knows how he needs to prepare for the application in general and also for the next session.
Medical School Applicant (UCAT preparation, 2021):
Your tips have been really helpful. Focusing on each section separately and breaking them down allowed me to get a better understanding of the test and shape my expectations about what kind of questions I will be seeing on the test day.
Student who attended my BMAT course (summer 2021):
The BMAT course has been really helpful, as it provided me with tips to score well on each section. Especially the section 3 part was really helpful, where I learnt how to break down the essay and approach it better.
Parent of SEN student (2021):
Our 13 year old son is normally a reluctant learner. Dr Nurmohamed excels in engaging him in his science lessons. She knows how to make the lessons interesting and she is able to draw the best out of Jay. He is very enthusiastic about the topics and he likes to talk about what he has learned. Jay has progressed a lot in school too. The hour long 1-1 sessions are really fantastic to help our son with all his science subjects.
Student who was successful in their Medical School Application - University of Edinburgh (2021):
Dr Sarah has been instrumental in training and guiding me through the very challenging process of the medicine interview. My sessions with Dr. Sarah were extremely impactful, with each session I was exposed to different styles of interview questions, so I was confident in all possible areas and not surprised on interview day. Additionally, the detailed analysis of each interview question, instant feedback on the content and delivery helped me gain confidence to approach any scenario for the actual interview. She was able to spot areas that needed to improve and it helped me gain an insight into what the interviewer is looking for. I was better able to formulate my responses in a concise and structured manner. I felt extremely supported and encouraged by Dr Sarah's gentle yet extremely professional approach and am very grateful for her guidance.
From a student who is currently applying to medical school (2021):
Dr Nurmohamed is very knowledgeable and well versed in the vast field of medicine. She understands the application process back to front and can provide very tailored guidance for your aspirations. I would greatly
recommend her services.
From Oxford University DPhil Candidate (2021):
Dr Sarah Nurmohamed provided excellent guidance and support for me for my interview at the University of Oxford's PhD program. In every hour that we sat together her support was absolutely spot on. She knew what was important and what was not in exact way my interview was actually came to be. Her attention to detail and knowledge in the field was spot on. Sarah cared about being there for me when I needed her the most.
Masters student at the University of Edinburgh (2021):
Sarah has been an excellent tutor who guided me with great patience during the course of my research project. Her guidance on implementing a structure for the research project was really helpful for me to figure out the missing pieces that I needed to look into for the research project. Her continuous encouragement and ongoing generous support have kept me going forward to complete the project to the best of my ability. Overall, she was not only a great tutor but someone whom you can reach out to for valuable advice on research projects.
