Raised in North London, I studied Mathematics, Computer Science, and Chemistry at Woodhouse College before moving to Manchester to study for a BSc in Computer Science at the University of Manchester.

I began tutoring during my time in Manchester and after attaining a first-class degree, I worked as an Artificial Intelligence Engineer for a year and a half working with a mix of traditional and generative methods before turning my complete focus towards tutoring.

I now have over seven years experience tutoring in Computer Science from GCSE to postgraduate level, with experience across many UK exam boards, including OCR, AQA, Edexcel, CIE and WJEC at GCSE and A-level. In addition to computing, I also teach music in both individial lessons and group environments such as at afterschool clubs and half term camps.

To find the best engagement in each student you need to be attentive to their needs which always vary. I’ve found this particularly helpful when working with SEN students, who frequently struggle in mainstream education but often make massive improvements when adaptations are made. When I can, I try to encourage enquiry even when it may not be directly related to the content of the lesson as curiosity is the key to ensure that the student is thoroughly understanding what is being taught and why particular concepts are relevant. This is especially useful in computing as the content at all stages of learning can seem very abstract at first and often will require more effort to get over the first hurdle.

When preparing for assessment, I find the main goal is to ensure that students completely understand what is being asked of them, therefore a deep understanding of the content including all necessary context that sheds a light on application is necessary to make question answering more intuitive.

My schedule is very flexible, and I fit my programming side projects around tuition very easily. My other hobbies include music, art and cooking.
