Emily

I grew up in Gloucestershire, and went to Cheltenham Ladies' College. I was a keen linguist and artist, and went on to study a degree in Spanish and History of Art at Bristol University. I knew I wanted to be a teacher from a young age, which motivated me to apply for the Teach First programme. Having taught Spanish and Art at secondary level, I travelled to Paris to teach English at a bilingual primary school (whilst also brushing up on my French).

When I returned to the UK, I worked at two Prep schools in London, teaching a range of ages and subjects over the subsequent years. My most recent role was as Deputy Headteacher, supporting both learning and pastoral care across the whole school. I therefore have extensive experience helping pupils achieve outstanding results.

As a dedicated teacher with 20 years of experience in primary and secondary schools, I know how important it is to find the right support for each individual child. I place great importance on building confidence and a love of learning. I’m known for my calm, supportive manner and my ability to motivate students to help them reach their potential. I always adapt my approach to suit each individual, adapting according to their preferred learning style.

I also work a self-employed educational consultant. I support families with schools admissions advice for the independent school sector in and around London.

In my freetime, I love travelling with my family, and I am also a keen artist.
