I am a passionate academic and have enjoyed teaching others in formal and private tutoring roles.
I have tutored for more than 4 years and from my experience, I have developed a strong ability to identify my tutee's strengths and weaknesses, engage them to think for themselves and aid them in becoming independent diligent students.
My students have gone on to achieving better than predicted grades and entering their first choice universities including: KCL, UCL, and Oxford.
I have experience in helping students with exam technique across the major exam boards and improving their critical thinking skills when tackling difficult questions.
I have experience as personal statement reviewer for prospective medical students and have organised educational courses to increase access to medicine.
I am currently a fourth year medical student at Guy's King's and St Thomas', King's College London, and recently graduated in a one year intercalated Neuroscience honours degree with a 2:1.
I grew up in the United Arab Emirates where I attended a private school until the age of 10. My family moved to the UK and I got into King Edward VI Five Ways Grammar in Birmingham and left sixth form with A*A*A at A-Level and 12A* 1A at GCSE, as well as a silver medal in the International Chemistry Olympiad exam.
I am multilingual and have been lucky to be exposed to many cultures throughout my upbringing.
I am a highly engaging and personable tutor who believes the essence of tutoring is to develop the tutee's ability to overcome problems by themselves through a shared learning experience rather than didactic teaching.
I am a strong proponent of developing a passion for learning and a healthy sense of curiosity in my students. I am able to adapt sessions to suit the tutee's learning style, but I maintain a structure whereby we review past material, delve into the current topic with comprehension checks and then set the groundwork for the next session.
I am a keen academic and have a variety of interests particularly in global health, surgery, medtech and innovation.
In my spare time, I enjoy middle distance and cross country running with my university's athletics team, exploring the outdoors and reading world literature.
