I grew up in London, where I went to St Michael’s Catholic Grammar School. Here, I completed my A Levels in Physics, Maths and Further Maths to gain admission to do General Engineering at Clare College, University of Cambridge, matriculating in 2019. I graduated with a BA and Meng (Master of Engineering) in 2023, specialising in Bioengineering. Since graduating I have travelled and built up my tutoring career further, and I will be starting a PhD in Nature Inspired Chemical Engineering at UCL in September 2024, during which I will continue to tutor part time throughout.

During introductory tutoring sessions I aim to identify how the students like to learn, and what kind of support could be beneficial to them. For subjects such as Physics and Maths, this can be either focusing on knowledge and understanding of principles and techniques or focusing on the application of knowledge to solve exam and interview problems. It is important to use diagrams and sketches when working on these topics, and so whether online or in person, I write notes and solutions to problems we do in our sessions, which are then given to the student for their independent learning. In addition, I encourage students to understand concepts from first principles, as having a good fundamental understanding and intuition for the subject can allow you to approach unfamiliar problems with confidence. This is especially applicable for students looking to apply to Oxbridge, as this is a key skill for being successful at the interview stage.

Depending on the subject being taught, my lessons can vary from teaching content, to doing example problems, to mock interviews and personal statement guidance. I like to provide holistic support in all aspects of a student’s learning.

When I am not tutoring, I have many hobbies such as playing musical instruments, climbing and crafting. In addition to this, I am about to start my PhD in September whilst continuing to tutor part-time.
