• 11+ English: ISEB and public school entrance exams and pre-tests
• GCSE/IGCSE English: AQA, CIE, Edexcel and OCR
• A-level English Literature: AQA, CIE, Edexcel, IB, OCR and WJEC
I have experience teaching English Literature at all levels; SATs preparation, 11+, school entrance, GCSE English (OCR, AQA, Edexcel, Eduquas), IGCSE, A Level English (OCR, AQA, Edexcel), graduate English and Oxbridge entrance, including interview technique. I have specific experience with the entrance exams for St Paul's Girls School, Harrodian, Godolphin and Latymer, Latimer, North London Collegiate, Dulwich College and Westminster School.
Of the pupils I have taught, 100% have gained places to one of their schools of choice, 100% have raised their grade by at least one grade boundary, and 100% have got into one of the top three universities of their choice.
I have been tutoring for four years, since graduating from the University of Cambridge in 2014. In addition to this I have also completed an MA in Literature at King's College London, worked in publishing and continued to pursue my interest in fiction writing. I also have longstanding ties to the Red Cross, teaching English language and Creative Writing to female refugees.
I am both committed and attentive, and endeavour to understand the unique needs of my students while acknowledging the competitive and stressful reality of exams and the school and university admissions processes. In my experience most progress is made when students grow in confidence, and I believe tutoring offers a unique space in which to make this happen. I have tutored a number of pupils, across a range of ages and abilities and I believe pupils work best when engaged and aim to stimulate intellectual curiosity, tailoring my teaching to each child's personal needs in order that we can reach our overarching goal.
What I do when I am not tutoring
I am currently studying a part-time course in the Foundations of Psychotherapy at the Tavistock and Portman Trust, while continuing to write as much as possible.
