I have been tutoring for well over ten years. I am highly experienced in exam preparation including 11+, 13+, GCSEs and A-Level English. All my pupils have achieved excellent results and fulfilled their potential. Recently, I helped an English A-Level pupil raise her grade from an E to an A and two GCSE pupils achieve grade 9 under the new 1-9 grading system.
I have prepared pupils for 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance and 16+ for the following schools: Wycombe Abbey, Benenden, St. Pauls, Godolphin & Latymer, Westminster, Winchester, Harrow, Wellington College, Rugby, Kings College School, Brighton College, Cheltenham Ladies' College, Charterhouse, Downe House and many more.
I have also experience preparing pupils for scholarship exams to Rugby, Westminster and Winchester, focusing on English and History. All won scholarships.
After completing A-Levels in French, English and History, I went on to do a Masters in History of Art with a minor in French at Edinburgh University. My dissertation concerned Emile Zola and his championing of contemporary avant garde artists.
Drama School followed and I trained in New York and Los Angeles, becoming a professional actress and screenwriter. On my return to London, I completed a Masters degree at Royal Holloway, University of London in Screenwriting for Film and Television, achieving a Distinction.
The past few years have been dominated by lecturing in screenwriting at Royal Holloway, and writing screenplays and TV pilots, some of which are currently in development.
Teaching has been the most rewarding experience; it allows me to impart some of my love for learning and gives me the satisfaction of helping and guiding a pupil to discover their own abilities and the confidence to do the work. I treat my pupils as individuals - that is, I don't patronise them as I find that having a good relationship and enjoying our time together helps the work process and builds confidence. I like to discuss a subject beyond the set syllabus and imbue my pupil with the desire to discover further. I believe it is important to show how much more there is out there to learn and enjoy.
I am a screenwriter for film and television and a Lecturer in Screenwriting at Royal Holloway, University of London.

''George really likes Roxaneh and looks forward to seeing her and sharing with her what he's done over the week. He is benefiting from the one-on-one attention and the consistency in the weekly visits. Roxaneh has given George confidence in his own ability and his teacher has noticed this at school.''
