I have been tutoring for over seven years. I am highly experienced in exam preparation including 11+, 13+, GCSEs and A-Level English. All my pupils have achieved excellent results and fulfilled their potential. Recently, I helped an English A-Level pupil raise her grade from an E to an A.
I have prepared pupils for 11+ and 13+ Common Entrance and 16+ for the following schools: Wycombe Abbey, St. Pauls, Godolphin & Latymer, Westminster, Winchester, Harrow, Wellington College, Rugby, Kings College School, Brighton College, Charterhouse, Downe House and many more.
I have also experience preparing pupils for scholarship exams to Rugby, Westminster and Winchester, focusing on English and History. All won scholarships.
I attended Francis Holland School and Wellington College where I completed A-Levels in French, English and History.
I chose to study History of Art at Edinburgh University and gained a Masters degree in History of Art with a minor in French. My dissertation concerned Emile Zola and his championing of contemporary avant garde artists.
Drama School followed and I trained in New York and Los Angeles, becoming a professional actress and screenwriter. On my return to London, I set up my own production company.
In January 2012, I qualified as a Guide at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
I have travelled extensively throughout the world and as a result, I have developed great respect for different people, cultures and customs.
Teaching has been the most rewarding experience; it allows me to impart some of my love for learning and gives me the satisfaction of helping and guiding a pupil to discover their own abilities and the confidence to do the work. I treat my pupils as individuals - that is, I don't patronise them as I find that having a good relationship and enjoying our time together helps the work process and builds confidence. I like to discuss a subject beyond the set syllabus and imbue my pupil with the desire to discover further. The syllabus can be dull and confining - I believe it is important to show how much more there is out there to learn and enjoy.
What I do when I am not tutoring
I am a screenwriter and have several screenplays in development.
I am a Guide at the Victoria and Albert Museum.
