After achieving straight As in my A-Levels (English Literature, History, Politics) at a northern state grammar school, I went on to read History and English at Hertford College, Oxford (2:1). On graduating, I went on to complete a Master's in International Politics and Security Studies at the world-renowned Peace Studies department at the University of Bradford where I graduated with Distinction and the highest dissertation mark in the year. I also hold a second Master's degree in Nonprofit Leadership at the University of Pennsylvania, an American Ivy league institution.
I spent four years in London managing higher education nonprofits, where I built up a wealth of experience in education policy as well as nonprofit management. I am now a full-time freelance writer and tutor.
I strongly believe that confidence building is an integral part of successful tutoring, and I work closely with my students to build their confidence as well as their abilities in their chosen subjects. I also offer tailored study skills coaching, advising on revision methods for GCSE and A-Level. My priority is always for the student to reach his or her potential as well as enjoy the process of learning and improving.
What I do when I am not tutoring
As a freelance writer, I recently completed my first feature-length film screenplay which is currently in pre-production phase and am working on a novel. I am also an avid cook and enjoy trying out new recipes and blogging about them!
