Julia is a highly experienced teacher, who was Head of Classics at a top London prep school for over 10 years before joining Keystone. She teaches English, French, Latin and Greek. Julia has a patient and nurturing approach, which allows her students to gain confidence in their studies.
Tommaso Alessandro
Tommaso teaches English, History, Italian, Psychology, Philosophy and RS across the age range. He also helps with Maths at 11+ and 13+. He has been tutoring alongside his studies for the past 5 years.

Why Parents come to Keystone for IGCSE Tuition
There is not a one size fits all approach to our IGCSE tutoring. What works for some children might not work for others, so our tutoring begins with an informal tutor led academic assessment. Along with a child’s academic aims, we use the results from this assessment to identify suggested areas to focus on within each tutoring session.
Parents come to Keystone for IGCSE tutoring for a number of reasons:
- Building subject confidence: Our tutoring provides students with the tools to succeed in their IGCSE exams. Individualised attention, tailored to the needs of each child, our tutoring can address specific learning needs and particular areas of development, filling in learning gaps and building subject confidence.
- Exam preparation: Our tutors can help children develop study and exam skills in the lead up to their exams. They are able to identify subject misconceptions, work on a child’s understanding and give them the tools to apply their knowledge in an exam situation through the use of practice IGCSE papers.
- Advanced learning: For those students aiming for a top grade in the subject and looking to challenge themselves, our advanced IGCSE tutoring allows children to explore a subject in greater depth in preparation for A Levels/IB.
- Learning difficulties and special education needs: We work with a team of IGCSE tutors who have extensive experience teaching students with special educational needs. The 1-to-1 tutoring environment allows students with educational needs more time to access, process and reinforce their learning, and, importantly, to ask for support in the lead up to their IGCSE exams.

During the first session the tutor starts by assessing where the child is at, their academic ability, their strengths and perceived weaknesses. Tutors will then devise a programme tailored to the specific circumstances of the student and their IGCSE exam board.
After the first lesson, one of our dedicated client managers will contact you to find out how the lesson went. Our client managers are always available at the end of the phone and they are frequently praised for their efficiency, dedication and responsiveness.

We have a monthly reporting system which is used to update parents on an ongoing basis. The monthly report details:
- the focus of that month’s tutoring
- the form of assessment used
- the student's achievements and areas for further work
- the focus for the coming month
The regular, rigorous reporting of the tutors we represent is frequently commended by parents.
The IGCSE tutors we represent are able to deliver in-person tuition within central London. For those outside of central London we offer online tutoring.
The tutors we represent are well versed in delivering online tuition, using videoconferencing and an interactive whiteboard. This gives students, wherever they are in the world, access to experienced, high quality tutors who are familiar with the requirements of the IGCSE exams.
Yes, we offer a trial lesson. With Keystone, you are not required to sign up for any minimum number of lessons, and we offer one-off paid trial lessons so that your child can determine if the fit is right for them. This allows students and parents tutoring through Keystone before committing to regular sessions. The trial lesson is charged at the tutor’s full hourly rate and there is no obligation to continue if you feel it's not the right match.
