We are offering two options, an AQA course and an Edexcel course. Details for each course are below. These courses are suitable for separate science courses only, rather than dual award.
Physics Edexcel IGCSE Course Description
This intensive 4-day course will focus on the application of syllabus content to exam questions. Each day will look at a broad range of question types and how content can be examined in this context. Students will be taught how to use mark schemes as a revision aid, identifying gaps in knowledge and how to tackle these.
Physics AQA GCSE Course Description
This 4 day course will focus on preparing students for their AQA GCSE Physics exam. During the course, students will revisit some key topics from the course in order to cement their understanding and provide a solid foundation on which to build exam technique. Students will then learn to apply their understanding to exam style questions in order to maximise the potential for marks during their exam.
Edexcel Course Outline
Day 1:
Key concepts of Physics, motion and forces. Conservation of energy.
Day 2:
Waves, light and the electromagnetic spectrum. Electricity and circuits, static electricity.
Day 3:
Radioactivity and Astronomy.
Day 4:
Particle model, forces, pressure and density.
Detailed feedback: An end of course report is sent on completion detailing the student’s achievements and areas for further work.
AQA Course Outline
Day 1:
Hour 1: Forces in action (Types of Forces, Forces and Motion)
Hour 2: Momentum + Questions on Moments, Pressure and Motion
Day 2:
Hour 1: Energy, Work and Power (Conservation and dissipation of energy, Energy transfer by heating)
Hour 2: Energy Resources + Questions
Day 3:
Hour 1: Electricity and Circuits
Hour 2: Electromagnetism
Day 4:
Hour 1: Waves (Properties, Light, Lenses)
Hour 2: EM Spectrum + Random Selection of Questions
Detailed feedback: An end of course report is sent on completion detailing the student’s achievements and areas for further work.
