Course Description
The UKiset course will cover in detail all three sections of the examination: Section 1 - Reasoning; Section 2 - English Test; and Section 3 - Handwritten Essay. In addition to this, students will gain an understanding of the format of the examination, key timings, necessary skills and how best to practice these, and how to secure the highest marks. Students will also benefit from access to feedback and top tips from previous students, past essay questions, and closest-fit mark schemes for Section 3: Handwritten Essay. Each lesson will include taught material, markable activities, extension activities and homework tasks to assess progress. Students will also be engaged in discussions around useful strategies for Reasoning questions to ensure they are equipped with the confidence to approach a variety of question types.
The teaching will be informed by my own resources, crafted from extensive experience of teaching this course to students between the ages of 10 and 16.
This course is aimed at students who are in Years 5 & 6 and are required to pass the UKiset exam as part of their applications to UK-based schools. Each day will include a 10 minute break half way through the session.
Day 1: Verbal Reasoning & Non-Verbal Reasoning
Day 2: Quantitative (Mathematical) Reasoning & Grammar and Vocabulary
Day 3: Reading & Listening
Day 4: Handwritten Essay
Day 5: Assessment session
Detailed feedback: An end of course report is sent on completion detailing the student’s achievements and areas for further work.

- Maximum Class Size: We teach in groups of no more than 10 with the average number in our classes being 5
