I’m an Australian-born career teacher and tutor who, having moved to London has taught History and Government & Politics across a range of secondary schools, specialising in GCSE and A-level. Throughout my career, I have held leadership positions as Head of History and Assistant Headteacher, combining my passion for teaching with a commitment to curriculum development and helping students achieve their potential.

Having worked with students of different abilities and backgrounds, I take an individual approach to teaching, focusing on building confidence, developing subject knowledge and analytical skills, and helping every student achieve their best.

A born and raised Australian, I've been in London for 20 years living in the East of the city. Having attended Wesley College in Perth, Western Australia studying History, French and English, I went to the University of Western Australia for my undergraduate degree in History and Politics. That was followed by a few years at Deakin University in Victoria where I completed my Master of Arts in International Politics.

A career teacher and tutor my most recent teaching has been A-level History and Politics and GCSE History. I’ve been an Assistant Headteacher for 10 years alongside the teaching and long tutoring.

With many years of experience in teaching, I believe that personalised, one-to-one tuition is one of the most effective ways to help students achieve their potential. Working individually with a student allows me to tailor lessons to their specific needs, strengths and areas for development, while giving them the opportunity to ask questions, seek guidance and receive regular, constructive feedback.

I believe that learning is most effective in a relaxed, supportive and encouraging environment where students feel comfortable expressing themselves, building confidence and learning from their mistakes. By adapting my approach to suit each individual, I aim to make learning engaging and enjoyable while helping students develop their knowledge, skills and confidence to achieve their best possible results.

Outside of teaching and tutoring, I enjoy making the most of living in London and spending time outdoors. I’m a keen walker and particularly enjoy hiking and exploring new places.

I’m also an enthusiastic reader and a member of a monthly book club. My interest in history extends beyond the classroom, and I’m a member of the National Trust, English Heritage and the Georgian Group, as well as holding membership of the National Portrait Gallery. I enjoy visiting galleries, historic houses and museums whenever I have the opportunity.

I also love travelling and am always looking ahead to my next trip. I’m currently looking forward to spending some time travelling next summer — although I’ll probably spend the winter months trying to put together the perfect itinerary!
