Oxford and Cambridge Advisory
We work with many Oxbridge applicants each year and can provide targeted guidance alongside the high-level subject specific preparation required to put forward a strong application. Our Oxbridge consultants are happy to support you either through our Application Management module, or on an hourly consultancy basis, and will be able to introduce you to the best tutors to help with the subject specialist modules if required
Preparation for entrance to Oxford and Cambridge university begins in the Sixth Form, and our consultants are able to provide guidance and support through the application process. A large number of our specialist consultants studied at Oxford or Cambridge and therefore have extensive personal experience of the procedure. We can also introduce Oxbridge tutors to families who can help with interviews, essays, entrance tests as well as provide broader application support.
Oxford and Cambridge University Advisory Services
1. Initial Consultation
Our initial university consultations enable us to understand the specific needs of the applicant, we will discuss your objectives and key university criteria. An initial consultation with a university specialist will either act as a starting point for our Application Management module (Module 1), ad hoc consultancy, or as an introduction to one of our tutor-led modules.
2. Application Management
If you are looking for a specialist consultant to oversee your Oxford or Cambridge university application then we are able support this through our Application Management module. Your consultant will advise on course and college choices and thereafter support you throughout the application process, managing deadlines and assisting with the completion of the UCAS form.
3. Guided Reading and Specialist Knowledge
This module has been designed to support those who are looking ahead to making an Oxbridge application. Through this module, a dedicated subject specialist tutor will discuss themes and ideas that underpin your chosen subject and will advise on suitable books and materials to explore. Having identified areas of interest in the subject your tutor will move the sessions towards developing more specialist knowledge, where you will deepen your expertise in the area, allowing you to build a central part of your personal statement as well as prepare for the interview process.
4. Test Prep
Our Test Prep module provides specialist tutors who can provide a course of 1-1 tutoring to help prepare applicants for university aptitude tests.
5. Personal Statement Drafting
In our Personal Statement drafting module you will be provided with guidance on drafting your personal statement. Expert members of our team will review iterations of your personal statement, providing practical feedback and guidance on how to ensure it represents you in the best possible light.
6. Interview Preparation
For those applying to Oxbridge, or for courses that require an interview, our expert tutors are familiar with the requirements of the interview process and able to provide mock interviews and feedback.
7. Ad Hoc Advice (Hourly Consultancy)
If you are looking for an unbiased perspective on courses and/or universities, or for an experienced education consultant who can give some insight into a specific topic, we are able to help on an hourly basis. Before a consultation we will collect relevant information, and if applicable, you will receive a summary email with further recommendations following the meeting.

Securing a place at one of the University's 31 historic colleges is no easy feat, and the Cambridge admissions interview is often the subject of a great deal of nervousness. A Guide to Cambridge University Admissions Tests for 2027 Entry
Gaining entry to Cambridge University is a process that requires you to be curious and committed from day one. It is a multi-facetted process and you must be across all elements of your application. You may even want to choose your A Levels with your Cambridge course in mind! Cambridge requires you to apply earlier than you would if applying elsewhere, finesse your subject knowledge and think outside of the box. This all before you sit your exams - and achieve top grades.
Applying to Cambridge involves other elements that it is possible to get a head start on, such as preparing your UCAS application and personal statement, preparing for interview and finding out more about the university admission tests and assessments.
Because getting into Cambridge is so competitive - on average across all subjects, they typically receive six applications per place - most subjects require prospective students to sit an entrance test of one sort or another, either before or as a part of the interview process. Your result will form part of a suite of impressions and information that colleges will use to decide on the suitability of candidates.

A Guide to Oxford University Admissions Tests for 2027 Entry
Competition for a place to study at undergraduate level at Oxford University is fierce. Every year, Oxford receives over 23,000 undergraduate applications for around 3,300 places, making it one of the most competitive universities in the world. This of course should not put off the prospective Oxford student, who will be well used to competition and accustomed to embracing a challenge.
The UCAS application deadline for Oxford is typically 15 October each year, although applicants should always check the current admissions timetable before applying.
Choosing your course and colleges is in some respects the easy part.
Some Oxford courses also require applicants to submit written work as part of the admissions process. Where required, this usually consists of one or more pieces of school work that demonstrates analytical thinking, subject knowledge and writing skills, as appropriate for your chosen course. Deadlines vary by course and college, so applicants should check the requirements carefully.
It is also possible that the entrance process for your chosen course will include some kind of admissions test – though the number of courses requiring you to sit a test has decreased over the last few years, as has the number of individual tests. These tests however form just a part of Oxford's admissions process and are used alongside a range of information – your UCAS application, personal statement, written work and interview - to help assess academic potential and suitability. Admissions tests are rigorous but Oxford University provides a range of information and support materials that are accessible and revisable to help candidates prepare.
