Who was the student?
The student came to us half way through Year 9. They had left school due to anxiety. The student was homeschooled full time with Keystone through to the end of Year 11, ending their studies with us by sitting their GCSE exams.
The student used the Keystone Office as their base for lessons, travelling in each day and meeting their tutors at the classrooms. A school environment was created through the use of breaktimes, prep diaries and regular tests in each subject.
How did we respond?
Due to the situation the student was in, there was a constant stream of communication between the Keystone Office Team, the tutors and the parents to ensure that everyone was happy and that lessons were catering towards the students needs.
Flexibility was slowly introduced, allowing the student to take breaks if needed and go for a walk outside. The student was encouraged to talk to the office team and engage with the tutors, meaning confidence and maturity grew.
What was the outcome?
The student matured and gained confidence, managing to sit his GCSE exams in Year 11. The student then went on to study A Levels at a Sixth Form College.
