“Mandeep was an amazing teacher! He was so patient with me, I used to hate maths class but honestly Mandeep has turned a subject which caused me anxiety to something I cannot wait to study. ”

Building strong, long-term relationships with students and parents is central to my approach, and I am happy to support families with wider educational planning where helpful.

I was born in Birmingham and attended Nishkam High School studying Chemistry, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics at A level. At university I studied Mathematics at the University of Birmingham and started tutoring privately alongside. My dissertation explored the effectiveness of different feedback methods within secondary Mathematics education. Ever since my time at university I have enjoyed the challenge of helping people understand Mathematics at all levels. After university I decided to take a gap year where I travelled around India and worked as a volunteer for an educational charity. Upon my return I went on to train with the King Edward’s Consortium as a secondary Mathematics teacher. This led me to teach at King Edward’s Aston and King Edward’s Birmingham over the next 5 years, both are which top grammar/independent schools within the West Midlands. I’ve continued to tutor students to achieve their highest potential within Mathematics and I’m now excited to be working full time as a private tutor to clients all over the world.

“In just a few sessions, we've seen remarkable progress in our daughters understanding, but even more importantly, she has regained both her confidence and her enjoyment of maths. That alone is priceless. Despite having a very busy and demanding schedule, Mandeep has always been exceptionally accommodating and available. His dedication and flexibility have made a real difference for our family. Mandeep is one of those rare teachers who truly makes an impact not just academically, but personally as well. We feel extremely fortunate to have him, and we would recommend him wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a tutor who genuinely cares, inspires confidence, and consistently goes the extra mile.”

“From the very beginning, Mandeep has gone above and beyond in every possible way. Not only is he an outstanding teacher with a remarkable ability to explain complex concepts clearly, but he also brings an energy and enthusiasm that truly transforms the learning experience. What sets Mandeep apart is his incredibly positive and encouraging approach. He doesn't just teach maths, he builds confidence, sparks curiosity, and restores a genuine love for the subject. He has a real gift for making students believe in their own abilities, and that has made an enormous difference for our daughter.”

My teaching based on creating a welcoming environment for students where they feel safe and confident enough to push themselves, ask questions and to overcome the fear of making mistakes. I have many years of experience tutoring 1-1, small groups and regular classes with up to 30 students at school. I enjoy the challenge of understanding how each student learns and creating solutions that are personalised and aim to break down problems into smaller, more manageable chunks. Seeing students develop in ability and confidence as they learn with me has been really fulfilling and I’m looking forward to many more journeys to come. I find research into teaching methods fascinating and is something I like to keep up to date with. Students find my style of teaching clear, challenging, interesting, and engaging.

I was working full-time as teacher of Mathematics at King Edward's School Birmingham for the past four years and I'm still involved with the school's extracurricular activities. These include the RAF cadets section, interfaith society and careers advice. Outside of teaching and tutoring I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing a range of sports (mainly football), reading about Philosophy and History and travelling.
