Lively discussion and debate were a core part of my young life with academic parents and a full home library. I set my sights on furthering my love of reading at university and, after I attained three A*s at A Level (English, Pscyhology, History), I went on to graduate from the University of Oxford with a BA in English Language and Literature (Double First). I decided to continue my studies at Oxford and subsequently achieved a Master of Studies (MSt) degree in English 1550-1770 (Distinction).
I began tutoring as a university student, which was my initiation into the world of online education. Since, I have had a variety of interesting professional roles such as working as a Programme Manager (Head of Department) at an education technology company, where I coordinated online course development and LMS implementation for prestigious schools, higher education institutions, and corporate clients worldwide. I have also worked as a EMEA Head of Delivery, Learning Technologist, Account Manager, and Tutor Manager in the education sector over the last decade. This work has greatly complemented my work as a tutor due to my professional experience creating online content which is underpinned by the latest learning methodologies.
In 2025, I completed a PGCert in Psychology of Education at UCL's prestigious Institute of Education. I attained a Distinction in this challenging MSc course, which has further enhanced my understanding of learning and development.
I am now working at Saïd Business School, University of Oxford, in their Executive Education department. I work on the B2B side - developing innovative residential and online programmes for FTSE 100 corporations. I continue to tutor part-time, as my love for teaching is evergreen!
“'Anna's been really resourceful and helpful - she was always prepared for the lessons, but at the same time she always made sure what we were doing was helping me. Not only did she give me in depth feedback every time I gave in an essay, but she always made sure I had confidence in my ability especially in the days leading up to the final exam. Thank you Anna!'”
“'I owe so much to Anna as a tutor! She helped me to achieve A* at English literature at A level and I don’t think I could have done it without her as she really helped me to reach my full potential. She is so passionate about English and that really rubs off on you as a student, she helped to keep my love for English alive even through the tiring a level period. She also helped significantly increase my confidence when it came to writing essays and believing in my own ability. She really is an amazing tutor and I would recommend her to anyone who asked!'”
I enjoy taking a stimulating, discussion-based approach to my tutoring sessions. I find that students are not always given the opportunity to think laterally and express themselves individually in a school environment which can, without attuned teaching, impede progress in subjects which require subjective thought.
I always adapt and individualise my approach for each student and their specific learning style, providing more or less structure as required. I have a wealth of resources such as learning prompts, sample essays, past papers, and writing scaffolds to support learning inside and outside of our sessions.
In my leisure time, I enjoy spending time in the great British weather (!) with my husband, two children, and two dogs. When having some 'me' time, I am an avid powerlifter and I also enjoy writing poetry as a way to process my experiences of life, motherhood, and world events.
