During my PGCE at St Mary's University, I taught at two secondary schools in West London across Key Stages 3 to 5 (including GCSE & A Level Geography). I then began teaching at a sixth form College in South East London as the A Level Geography teacher (Edexcel Exam Board). Additionally, I have also taught BTEC Business and BTEC Applied Science.
Currently, I am the head of Geography and teacher of A Level Geography and A Level Environmental Science at a sixth form college in South West London on a part-time basis.
Originally from the North West of England, I Studied Geography, Biology, Chemistry & Art at A-Level. From here, I discovered my passion for Geography and Earth Sciences.
This led me to study Geology with Geography in my first year of university, which I then focused on just Geology for my final 2 years. I graduated with a 2.1 BSc Hons.
I followed this up by studying Geography PGCE with QTS at St Mary's University in Twickenham.
Throughout my teaching experience, my primary role was as an A Level Geography teacher.
I have also taught A Level Environmental Science, BTEC Business, BTEC Applied Sciences, Key Stage 3 & 4 Geography (including GCSE) and Key Stage 3 History & R.E.
I have run numerous extracurricular activities and clubs, including Earth Science, Environmental Science and D&D.
Currently, I am the head of Geography and teacher of A Level Geography and A Level Environmental Science at a sixth form college in South West London, on a part-time basis.
For the rest of the week, I work as a studio manager for a creative post-production company.
With six years of classroom experience, I bring a balanced and adaptable teaching style to my tutoring sessions. Having worked with a wide range of abilities, I understand the importance of tailoring my approach to suit each student’s needs—whether that means providing structured guidance, breaking down complex concepts, or encouraging independent problem-solving.
My experience in the classroom has given me a strong ability to assess where students may be struggling and adapt my explanations accordingly. I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that builds confidence as well as subject knowledge.
Having first-hand experience preparing students for GCSE & A-Level exams, I am well-versed in exam techniques, question structure, and how to approach extended responses effectively. I can also provide targeted support for geography coursework, ensuring students understand assessment objectives and how to structure their work to achieve the best possible results.
When I am not working and tutoring, I enjoy practising yoga, taking my dog out on long walks, crocheting and playing D&D.
