I am an experienced teacher who has enjoyed a satisfying career in education for over twenty-five years.

Having taught in both state and private independent schools, my roles have included Primary Class Teacher, Maths, Assessment and Art Coordinator, Teacher trainer and Mentor.

Being qualified to teach across all of the core subjects (English and Maths), I have had extensive experience delivering the British, International and IBO PYP curricula in London and Hong Kong.

I am a specialist with the 4-13 years age range, and particularly skilled at teaching bi-lingual learners, who are learning English as a second language. I have worked with many students with learning needs too.

Working as a Private Tutor, I have placed many students into top London selective schools. Recent successes (2023-2026) have included two placements at Westminster Under School (7+ and 8+), St Paul’s Junior (7+), Kings College (9+), Bute House (7+), Highgate School (11+) and University College School (8+) and South Hampstead School (11+).

Also, I have successfully placed students in boarding schools, including Rugby School, Cheltenham Ladies College, Wycombe Abbey and Benenden School.

In addition, I have supported numerous senior students following the IB MYP Programme. I have specifically focused on teaching the skills necessary for Composition/Essay writing, providing support with subjects including Language and Literature, Design, Individuals and Societies, Science and Art.

Being born and bred in North London, I completed my Post-graduate teacher training at University of Surrey after obtaining a BSc (Hons) Psychology degree from Goldsmiths- University of London.

After working within the Borough of Barnet as a Primary School teacher for a number of years, I decided to embark on a new and exciting journey by travelling to Hong Kong, where my parents reside. Being of Chinese ethnicity, I was able to transition smoothly; embracing the wonderful culture, exploring the beautiful sights, and more importantly, continuing with my teaching career.

I feel very privileged to have been able to teach native Chinese, international and a large expat community at prestigious schools, including ESF Discovery College and Kellett School, a British International School.

Continual growth and development have always been my priorities, and the exposure to some of the best educational practices in the world equipped me with a wealth of knowledge and the unique skill-set that I possess today.

Fortunately, since relocating back to London, I have been able to use this experience and continue working as a teacher, mainly as an in-person private tutor in London.

With a background in Psychology, I believe in nurturing children holistically; social and emotional growth is as important as academic development.

My teaching is best defined as skills based; that which promotes creativity, critical thinking and problem solving. I incorporate a diversity of techniques in my instruction that helps to address the wide range of learning styles.

My lessons are meaningful, innovative and stimulating activities, which provide the skill-set necessary to enable students to reach their full academic potential.

My goal is to instil a passion for learning within my tutee’s and be an excellent role model. I communicate effectively by giving insightful feedback on how to help my students improve in order for them to achieve success.

My ability to build trusting and respectful relationships, and the determination to ‘go the extra mile’ are two of my strengths as a teacher.

I love travelling to different countries to learn about new cultures. Having lived in Hong Kong for a long while, I am very familiar with Asia.

I enjoy exploring nature, gardening and hiking. I love to paint, practise yoga and am an avid tennis fan!
