I graduated from Cambridge and began my teaching career at two top London schools. At this time my tutoring career rocketed via word of mouth recommendation and I was fortunate enough to be offered the chance to work independently for international families, travelling abroad with them and offering a range of subjects to children aged 7-18. I spent six years globetrotting teaching English (mainly CE and Scholarship prep as well as GCSE ) Latin, Greek, Classical Civilisation, Spanish and Italian up to A level.
I then returned to the UK and have spent 5 years teaching at a top independent school.

I have worked extensively with students in Singapore and Hong Kong, preparing them for entry to UK schools, often mid year or at critical times of their academic career and supported a smooth transition to the British system.

My students have achieved a range of awards and scholarships at schools such as Eton and Winchester and several other top public schools. Equally satisfying is my work with children whose strengths lie in non-academic fields and I have been proud to see them secure places at excellent schools and laudable success in public exams.

Since graduating I have been lucky enough to work equally as a private tutor and a teacher in a range of top schools. I’ve travelled abroad working exclusively for international families and loved this but have also relished teaching classes in school and seeing children flourish and grow in academic confidence over the years. I have lived and worked in Ukraine, Singapore, Switzerland and Italy.
Most recently I was Head of Classics and History of Art for 6 years in a leading Public School in the UK where I created a stimulating and enriching environment for pupils to flourish and excel.

I now live in Tuscany with my family and tutor full time.

I always aim to be impeccably informed and prepared for each student I teach. I am highly adaptable and professional and my lessons are stimulating and thorough, allowing me to be able to fulfil each students needs and potential. I always establish a friendly professional relationship with my students. I can be tough when I need to be and have high expectations but believe that kindness and praise will engender fulfilment of potential.

I encourage active participation in learning processes and enable students to feel a sense of ownership and control in their learning. I plan meticulously but am not rigid in my structure plans. Each lesson is fresh and holistically tailored towards a student.

I am a busy mother and enjoy travelling round the Mediterranean with my family and visiting new cities and coasts, ancient and modern.
I am a keen swimmer and although I no longer compete I enjoy sea swimming all year round as well as hiking and running.
