I tailor my tutoring according to the student’s needs and aspirations.

I have been tutoring extensively since April 2010.

  • 11+ English: ISEB and public school entrance exams
  • 13+ French, English, History, Geography and Religious Science: ISEB and public school entrance exams including scholarships
  • 13+ French scholarship: St Paul’s and King’s Wimbledon
  • French: GSCE (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC), A-levels (AQA, Edexcel, OCR, WJEC, Cambridge PreU), International Baccalaureate and SATS
  • History of Art: A-level (Edexcel) and university level
  • French for professional interviews and adult conversations
  • French for beginners
  • Places secured at 13+: Eton, Westminster, St Paul’s, King’s Wimbledon (academic scholarship), Benenden, Oundle amongst others.
  • SATS exam preparations for Princeton and Duke.

My GSCE students have achieved A* and A, with the vast majority having achieved A*. I take great pride in the fact that I help my pupils achieve the results they long for and require.

I regularly tutor children who are not working towards a particular exam but who like staying on top of their games. The majority attend London prep schools or day schools but I also have clients in Hong Kong and Dubai who I work with online.

I also tutor children who want to join a school outside of 11+ or 13+. For example, I prepared a ten years old boy for Eaton Square School. One of my Hong Kong students did so well he was awarded an Academic Scholarship from Sevenoaks following the Year 7 admission tests. I am currently preparing a Primary School student for entry into King’s Wimbledon at 10+.

I was born in Paris, France and brought up in Madrid, Spain until the age of twelve when I returned to Paris where I studied for a French Baccalaureate in Economics and Social Sciences with an emphasis on Mathematics. At the age of eighteen, I left France for the UK. I spent four wonderful years in Scotland at St Andrews University where I studied History of Art (MA Hons, 1st). I then went to Merton College at Oxford University to do a Masters in History of Art(MSt).

After completing my Masters at Oxford, I worked in contemporary art for galleries in St James’s and Cork Street in London. I also conducted a number of detailed independent research projects for art dealers.

I stopped working in the commercial art world to concentrate on my writing and art historical research. In the last four years I have been working as a writer, tutor, researcher and mother.

I tailor my tutoring according to the student’s needs and aspirations. Together with his/her parents I devise a time frame and a structure upon which to base ourselves. It usually becomes quickly apparent what a new pupil needs and how to approach our collaboration.

My success lies in my structured approach. I break down the subject, simplify it and present it in a more ordered fashion. “Keep it simple” and “it truly is not as difficult as you think it is” is what you will hear me say; frequently the problem is as much an issue of confidence as comprehension. I have found that pupils have come to me fearing a subject, overwhelmed by what they see as a mountain to climb. I am the mountain guide who leads them to the top. Most children I have tutored are cluttered with too much information and they lose footing. My job is to present the subject as a “friend”, something to enjoy. This is the cornerstone of my tutoring.
I am a writer who is in love with Yeats and Celtic mythology and have a strong knowledge of European fairy tales. This allows me to be particularly helpful with creative writing.

With French, the fact that I am a native French speaker speaks for itself. I can teach French the French way and this has proven highly successful.

My strength lies in my organisation and working techniques. What is simple, knowledgeable, well explained and above all well-structured shows a lot of skills and achieves the highest grades.

I am writing fantasy books with all sorts of creatures good and bad. I find that my tutoring influences my writing.

At home, I look after my two children and a disobedient whippet.
