I am a fully qualified teacher with QTS and over ten years’ experience across leading independent and international schools in London and Dubai. Most recently, I held the position of Assistant Head, Head of English and Designated Safeguarding Lead at a prestigious West London preparatory school. Alongside my school leadership roles, I have extensive private tutoring experience in both Dubai and New York, supporting pupils through 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ entrance examinations, scholarship assessments, school interviews and GCSE English.

I have successfully prepared pupils for entry to some of London’s most sought-after schools, including St Paul’s Girls’ School, Latymer Upper School, Westminster School, King’s College School Wimbledon and Godolphin & Latymer, among many others.

Born and brought up along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, I have built an educational career shaped by an international outlook and a genuine passion for helping young people flourish.

I studied English Literature and Theatre Studies at Queen’s University, Belfast, before completing my PGDE in Primary Education at the University of Glasgow. My career in education has taken me from Scotland across the UK to the UAE and the United States. I held senior leadership roles in the UK’s independent sector, including Assistant Headteacher, Head of English, and Designated Safeguarding Lead, combining academic expertise with a strong understanding of curriculum, pastoral care, and child development.

I bring this breadth of experience to my tutoring, with particular expertise in preparing pupils for 7+, 8+, 11+ and 13+ entrance assessments, scholarship examinations, GCSE English and school interviews. My specialisms include English, creative writing, comprehension and verbal reasoning, alongside developing the confidence, clarity and communication skills that enable children to fulfil their potential. I also have extensive experience supporting KS1 pupils, particularly in phonics, early language acquisition and reading.

To me, exceptional tutoring begins with a truly bespoke approach. Every pupil is different, and the one-to-one setting provides the opportunity to tailor each lesson to their individual needs, interests, learning style and aspirations.

Drawing on a background in drama and a strong interest in the arts, I bring creativity and imagination to my teaching, balancing academic rigour with genuine enjoyment. Lessons are purposeful, engaging and appropriately challenging, to cultivate confidence, curiosity, independence and a lasting love of learning.

My interests outside of tutoring include spending time outdoors and travelling. I enjoy Reformer Pilates and swimming, as well as going to the theatre, art, and music. I'm also writing my first children's book, which has been a hugely rewarding experience.
