I am a Cambridge-educated lawyer and senior academic tutor with over ten years and more than 5,000 hours of one-to-one tutoring experience. Having trained at a Magic Circle firm, I specialise in high-level academic tuition for GCSE, A Level and university students, including Oxbridge and Russell Group applicants. I pride myself on translating complex material into clear, structured and exam-focused teaching, and on bringing the same intellectual rigour, judgement and discretion to tutoring that families rightly expect at this level.
I grew up in London and studied Mathematics, English Literature, Economics, History and an Extended Project at A-Level, achieving 3A*s and 2As (building on 9A*s 2As at GCSE). From early on, I was drawn to subjects that rewarded careful reasoning and precision of argument, which is what led me to read Law at the University of Cambridge. My Masters of Law and Bachelor of Arts Law degrees demanded rigour across a huge range of disciplines, from constitutional theory to commercial obligations. This gave me a way of thinking about problems that has shaped everything I've done since. After graduating, I achieved a Distinction in the Legal Practice Course at BPP Holborn. I trained at and practised at leading Magic Circle and Silver Circle law firms, before moving into senior in-house legal and commercial roles and then consultancy work, where I continue to practise in the FinTech space alongside my tutoring.
I have learned that no two students think, learn, or develop in exactly the same way. My approach is therefore highly individualised: I begin by understanding how each student processes information, where their confidence lies and which areas require careful reinforcement. From there, I build structured, focused lessons that combine clear explanations with thoughtful questioning and guided practice.
Having trained and worked as a lawyer, I place particular emphasis on clarity of reasoning, precision of language, and helping students break complex ideas into manageable steps. At the same time, I aim to create a calm and encouraging learning environment where students feel comfortable asking questions and exploring ideas.
Where helpful, I incorporate memory techniques, structured note-making, and creative exercises to strengthen understanding and retention. My goal is not only to improve a student’s performance in the immediate term, but also to help them develop the intellectual confidence, study habits, and analytical skills that will serve them well throughout their education.
I continue to practise as a Senior Legal Consultant and qualified Solicitor (England and Wales). Outside of work, I am an Advanced Open Water and Rescue Diver, and I volunteer at London Legal Clinics providing pro-bono advice to those who need it most.
