I have 15 years of teaching experience in highly academic independent schools, including Latymer Upper and City of London School for Girls, and have served as Head of German at South Hampstead High School. My work has focused on supporting high-achieving students to achieve top grades.
I would be happy to provide support with structural phrases and higher-level vocabulary to help students make their language more sophisticated.
I can assist with past paper revision. and am certainly happy to help with the oral exam at GCSE & A- level.

I am a native German speaker and a qualified teacher with QTS status and I have over 15 years of experience teaching German in a range of academic schools across London.

I teach German at secondary level, specialising in GCSE and A-level German as well as the International Baccalaureate (IB) Language A and B courses at Higher Level. Most recently, I taught at Putney High School teaching German A-level (Literature & Film).

My teaching combines academic rigour with a strong focus on language fluency, cultural understanding, and exam success.

I believe that effective learning starts with understanding each pupil as an individual. I tailor my lessons carefully to suit my students’ needs, learning styles and personalities, ensuring they feel confident, supported and motivated at every stage of their learning journey.

With extensive experience teaching AQA and Edexcel at GCSE, IGCSE and A Level, I place a strong emphasis on developing confidence in speaking, listening and writing in foreign languages, while consistently aiming for the highest academic standards. I draw on my experience as an oral examiner at leading schools, including City of London School for Girls, Latymer Upper School and South Hampstead High School, to prepare students thoroughly for exam success.

As a native German teacher, my mother-tongue command of the language allows me to grasp and teach nuances, idioms, register, and exam-relevant phrasing instinctively, enabling students to move beyond translation and achieve top grades.

I use a wide range of assessment and monitoring strategies to track progress towards clear learning objectives, allowing me to adapt lessons as needed and provide structured, constructive feedback. Progress is recorded systematically so that both students and parents can see clear evidence of achievement over time.

I enjoy spending time with my family and my two daughters, aged 13 and 11, as well as taking cycling classes and going for walks.
