For three years, before becoming a tutor, I worked in two different United Learning academy schools in London. These schools have the very highest academic standards. Working at these schools has enabled me to be an outstanding teacher. We regularly had CPD in our staff meetings and at INSET days.

I have taught all of the primary age year groups. Some of the children I taught were aiming for or did go to independent schools. In order to prepare the year 6 children for exams, I ran a SPaG (spelling and grammar) intervention group. I am well equipped to support children who are preparing for examinations as well as those who are in need of some additional support.

Prior to becoming a professional teacher, I tutored children aged between 7 and 11. I started to tutor with Keystone more recently and my focus is now to build up my tutoring to become full-time.

I am currently tutoring a Year 4 student. This child has needed support with reading comprehension, writing and spelling. She has already made huge progress and after only one school term, her teacher has reported back that she is now working at the expected level for her age having been below this level until now.

I have tutored a Year 5 student who was preparing for entry into Francis Holland. This student had adhd and dyslexia. I supported her with verbal reasoning and writing so that she could make a succinct creative writing plan independently.

I have home schooled a Year 5 child who was between schools. I taught him all subjects as though it was a normal school day. The parents were very pleased as I ensured that he did not have any gaps before starting his new school.

I was born in London and grew up in London but went to Downe House School in Berkshire.

Subsequently, I completed a three year degree in Primary Education at St Mary's in Twickenham, where I achieved a first class degree.

Most recently, I worked at Wilberforce Primary School in Queen's Park, for one year, where I was a year 2 class teacher. In this role, I also mentored a trainee teacher and I was a mentor for an ECT (a new teacher). I ran school council as well. Prior to this role, I was a year 3 class teacher at the sister school of Wilberforce which is Langford Primary in Fulham. Both schools are part of United Learning and are very high achieving schools.

Before working at Langford Primary, I did supply teaching in London and taught in many private schools.

I volunteered at 'The Baytree Centre' which is a charity for women and children, in Brixton. Here, I mentored an eight year old child who had special educational needs. Working with this child made me more curious to find out how I could best support children with additional needs and I then decided to become a teacher.

I am absolutely driven to support children to find their unique talents and interests and to ultimately enable them to be the best versions of themselves.

Having taught many children over the years, I know that each child is motivated to learn in their own, unique way. I concentrate on building a great rapport with each child so that they really want to learn and do their best. It is important that the child feels successful so I make sure to build their learning up in small steps so that at each stage they can feel a strong sense of achievement.

I am now a full-time tutor having been a professional teacher for the past four years (plus another three years of teacher training).

I am involved in a teachers reading group. This is linked to the Open University and involves keeping up to date with current and new children's literature.

At the moment I am enjoying have some additional time to myself having recently left my role as a class teacher and mentor. I play tennis, do ceramics and I am learning how to be a good gardener.
