Cecile
Cecile is a trilingual science teacher and is passionate about the climate and biology. After over a decade teaching at the Lycée, in London, she now focuses on tutoring and on her company ClimateClue.
My tutoring approach is based on active listening, careful analysis, and building the student’s confidence.

- Undergraduate Biochemistry
I taught for 11 years at the French Lycée Charles de Gaulle, where I taught Biology and Geology to students from Year 7 to Year 13. In addition, I supported students with their preparation for Oxbridge entry.
During this time, I provided one-on-one tutoring for pupils who required additional support to reach their full potential.
I taught Science to Year 5 and 6 students and created an after-school science club for children aged 8 to 12. Covering topics from Biology and Physics to Geology and Chemistry, the club engaged students in hands-on experiments using everyday materials. They learned how to formulate hypotheses, design experiments, and interpret their results in a fun and accessible way.
As a volunteer, I taught French to Mexican students at the University of Guadalajara.
During my PhD, I also taught Biochemistry to first- and second-year students at the University of Créteil.
I am a trilingual teacher and science communicator (French, English, Spanish) with over 12 years of teaching experience. I have a strong background in molecular biology, biochemistry, and geology, complemented by academic and research experience at the Institut Curie and Imperial College London. My career spans secondary and higher education teaching in international settings, as well as the design and facilitation of science workshops in both French and English.

My tutoring approach is based on active listening, careful analysis, and building the student’s confidence. I begin by understanding the learner’s needs and reviewing evaluations or assignments to identify any difficulties. When needed, I organise structured homework to reinforce understanding.
For exam preparation, we work directly with past exams to focus on the style of questions and the key concepts most often assessed.
I help students gain confidence by explaining biological concepts clearly and simply, encouraging real understanding rather than memorisation. To make the subject engaging, I link biology to everyday life with accessible, real-world examples.
My goal is to create a supportive environment where students feel heard, motivated, and inspired to see biology as an exciting and meaningful subject.
Two years ago, I co-founded a company called ClimateClue, dedicated to science-based climate change education. Although the company’s activity has slowed this year, we continue to collaborate with local boroughs and universities such as Imperial College London, the University of Westminster, and Kingston University. This work occupies one or two days every two weeks and is planned well in advance, allowing me to remain highly flexible and available for both in-person and remote teaching, week-end included.
