Over the past seven years, I have guided more than thirty students into top universities such as Oxford, Cambridge, and Imperial College, with most achieving A*s and As at A-Level or 7s at IB (HL). I have worked with a wide range of student profiles - from high-achievers aiming for the very top to those overcoming academic or confidence challenges. This experience also extends across all levels of academia, from helping GCSE students build strong maths and science foundations for top grades, to supporting degree-level students who have gone onto achieve 1st Class honours in Maths and Engineering. I bring recent first-hand insight into admissions tests, academic expectations, and interview formats. I also stay well informed of any updates to requirements, both in examinable content and interview ethos.
I am a graduate from Imperial College London with a master's degree in Mechanical Engineering - achieving first class honours in all four academic years with 75% overall. Prior to this I grew up in Cardiff where I achieved 10 A*s at GCSE and 4 A*s at A-Level including Maths, Further Maths and Physics. Since graduating in 2022 I have been tutoring alongside working in tech as a software engineer. I currently live in central London and do both online and in-person tutoring, including on the weekend.
I am a patient tutor and my teaching style emphasises conceptual depth, structured problem-solving, and clear explanations. Lessons are designed to move from strong conceptual understanding to exam-ready fluency, with particular attention to time management, and efficient exam technique - all while nurturing genuine enthusiasm for the subject. I encourage independent thinking by having students attempt problems themselves before we work through solutions step-by-step. Beyond subject teaching, I provide comprehensive support with personal statements, interview preparation, and admissions tests. Students also receive detailed lesson notes, written feedback, plus ongoing availability between sessions for academic advice or homework queries.
I currently work as a software engineer - although I work remotely and have full flexibility on my hours meaning my students have full priority on the days & times of our sessions, and I then fit my software engineering role around them. In my spare time I am extremely active and have a big passion for sport - cycling, golf, football, running - whatever gets me outdoors and moving.
