I have also coached a number of people for Oxbridge interviews and helped them with their CVs. (And I have also taught English as a foreign language in Nepal)
Biography
I grew up in Beckley Park outside Oxford and attended The Dragon School and got a scholarship to St. Edward's School in Oxford. I attained 10 A*a and an A at GCSE, 4 As at AS level, and 3 As at A@ level. I was accepted to Balliol College, Oxford University, to study Classics with deferred entry and travelled extensively throughout the developing world in my gap-year. I graduated from Oxford a year ago with a Double First-Class Degree and have been asked to apply to All Souls. I now live in Chelsea and run a charitable foundation's online magazine.
Personal Approach
Excelling in exams is a skill that needs to be learnt, and is separate from excelling in class, yet it is often not taught sufficiently well at school. I believe that my experience of exams puts me in a particularly good position to prepare students for this important part of school life. I am patient, and don't believe in getting angry to get things done. I believe studying should be made as fun and enlightening as possible, but there should also always be an eye on the exams/curriculum. I also feel that it is a mistake to shy away from sometimes telling pupils an answer they couldn't figure out on their own, rather than waiting endlessly for them to be frustrated and bored at not being able to do it themselves.
