I had direct responsibility for a class of thirty children aged 12-13 as well as teaching a variety of ages French, Religious Studies, Philosophy, English, learning-support reading, Drama, Music, Art, Maths and Sport.
I have also been tutoring groups and individuals in puppetry and performance since 2006.
These experiences have allowed me to develop clear strategies for working with pupils of all abilities and ages.
Biography
I grew up in Worcestershire and studied English, French, Art and History of Art at A-Level. I graduated in 2008 from Edinburgh University with a double first in Fine Art and History of Art. Since then I have been working as a puppeteer and theatre director and I run my own puppet company, Pangolin's Teatime. I teach puppetry both in group workshops and one to one. I am also a keen musician and film maker.
Personal Approach
Every student has different needs and so my style of tuition varies accordingly. The joy of personal tuition is that it allows for an individual approach, that schools sometimes struggle to provide. I believe in a friendly and relaxed, but academically sound environment to foster respect and trust between myself and the student. I seek to bring a fresh and dynamic look at a subject and give the student the tools to process and enjoy his/her work.
