Biography
I read English Language and Literature at Oriel College, Oxford. I was awarded an Exhibitionship for academic excellence in my first year, and granted Scholar status by the University in my second year.
I hold a Cambridge ELTA qualification in teaching English as a secondary or additional language and I have experience in tutoring English with all levels and ages, including students with learning difficulties. I have taught English as a foreign language for over a year, including time spent teaching abroad in Normandy.
I also have strong links to St. Paul's and I am very familiar with the entrance requirements and interview process.
I am currently employed as a TEFL teacher with a major London language school.
*****
During my time at University, I won the O.U. Best Actor award and became president of the Oxford Revue with over-all responsibility for the sketch group's writing and production. I was also elected student representative for English at Oriel, and played in a number of sports teams.
Personal Approach
I think good tutoring is about developing clear learning objectives, and working hard to tailor tutes according to the particular needs and abilities of each client.
This often demands meticulous preparation, and a real appreciation of how your tutee learns best and what might possibly prevent them from reaching their full potential.
With these guidelines in place, tutees can relax and learn with confidence and efficiency.
What I do when I am not tutoring
When I am not tutoring, I spend my time writing and reading.
