Peter

I grew up in Somerset, and developed and strong interest in reading social science and studying music. After excelling in guitar from a young age, I first began teaching guitar professionally at the age of 14. I was later accepted into the University of Bristol to study a BA in Anthropology with Chinese. This was a significant milestone for me, having come from a non university-educated family. I gained significant tutoring experience during my undergraduate degree, doing online sessions and spending a summer in Beijing, teaching English and volunteering as a summer camp mentor. I was later accepted to read for a Master of Science in Medical Anthropology at the University of Oxford. I have since been pursuing the path of becoming a full time tutor residing in London, with the desire to help others find the fulfillment I have had from education.

Having helped dozens of students throughout the years achieve their desired goals, I appreciate that every child is fundamentally different. I have extensive educational experience with the primary age group and am therefore well equipped with methods appropriate for different learner and personality types, including SEN requirements. Perhaps most importantly, I am personable and adapt my tone as necessary for each student. My teaching style has frequently been described as calming and encouraging. I aim to provide a clear, manageable working timeline for both students and parents to monitor their expectations of progressions. Whether the client requires attention on increasing exam technique, concentration, enjoyment, or comprehension of the school curriculum - or even to have their education pushed above and beyond - I have the capacity to assist the student in achieving their desired outcome.

I am currently committing to career and working lifestyle of a full-time tutor. Outside of tutoring I enjoy community events organisation, playing music and running.
