I have been tutoring for the last 5 years and primarily tutor chemistry and mathematics. I started tutoring in Singapore after finishing high school and continued to tutor in London whilst attending university. Most of my experience is in tutoring GCSE and A-level chemistry.
I was born in Australia but grew up in Singapore and attended an international school there. I have an International Baccalaureate Diploma with Higher Level subjects Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, Standard Level subjects English, History and Mandarin and an overall score of 42 points. After finishing high school in Singapore I went on to study Materials Science at Imperial College London where I gained a first class degree.
Tutors should be able to adapt their teaching styles to suit their tutees needs and I have become proficient at this through tutoring students of a range of ages and abilities. I am able to help both those who require going to back to basics and those who wish to boost their grades from good to great.
What I do when I am not tutoring
I am currently working part-time as a tutor. When I am not tutoring I am either rock climbing or working as an engineer.
Holly has been superb as a Chemistry tutor. She has helped me fill in the gaps in my knowledge and by doing so has enhanced my ability to link the concepts I’ve been taught in class and to apply them successfully to exam questions. My understanding of organic chemistry has greatly improved, and thanks to Holly’s support, I was able to obtain a good result in my mock examination. (A level Chemistry student)
"Holly was absolutely fabulous. In my daughter's words, she was excellent and really helped her with all the information that she needed. Thank you so much." (Mother of AS/A2 Chemistry Student)
Very happy with tutoring sessions, Holly was on time, approachable and professional. Most importantly infectiously enthusiastic about her subject (Mother of A Level Biology student)
