Course Description
This course will cover the key skills assessed in the new 13+ level paper. It will focus on poetry, prose and drama comprehension for Paper 1 and help students with how to answer the three types of question. Students will then learn about the key requirements in different writing tasks - creative writing and non-fiction writing - for Paper 2 and learn how to plan and 'craft' each type of answer. At each stage, there will be timed assessments which not only will help them practise writing under timed conditions, but also to understand the marking system, and so assess how strong their own work is and how to improve it even further.
We're offering both standard and higher-level courses with the same course outline. The higher-level course is designed for top-performing students targeting highly selective schools that demand a common entrance score of 70% or more.
