Do you need help revising for your A-Level English Literature?
Come and join this course to cover all the details of your set text, as well as pick up some practical tips for exam strategy and essay-writing success.
From character, to plot, themes, setting, genre, language, form and structure, we will cover all the basics. We will also blitz exam strategy and essay-writing, including: effective revision and scheduling; timing and approach for exams; building a quotation bank and memorising quotes; essay planning; how to write a thesis statement and the importance of this for your exam overall; how to write a model paragraph that demonstrates close analysis AND ties in those pesky assessment objectives of context and perhaps critics, too.
Othello
A crash course in all things Othello. Revise plot, character, setting, themes, context, critics, and most importantly, the role of iambic pentameter in the play.
The Tempest
A crash course on The Tempest. Revise plot, character, setting, themes, context, critics, and most importantly, the role of iambic pentameter in the play.
Wuthering Heights
Let's revise Wuthering Heights! We will cover character, themes, plot and The Novel more broadly, as well as the various adaptions of Wuthering Heights on screen and elsewhere.
Detailed feedback: An end of course report is sent on completion detailing the student’s achievements and areas for further work.
Florence is an experienced tutor who has worked across the age range, helping 100 Keystone clients. While first completing a DPhil and then working as a research fellow at Oxford, Florence held several teaching and lecturing roles. However, she also helps primary level students build solid foundations. Florence encourages her tutees to become self-motivated learners with a love for their subjects.
- Maximum Class Size: We teach in groups of no more than 10 with the average number in our classes being 5
